SO16_Saint Posted 4 July, 2012 Share Posted 4 July, 2012 How can I stop my cat cr@pping in my garden? He never used to do it, but in the last month he's started. Don't want anything harmful, just want him to stop. If he doesn't, mind, I WILL get the shotgun out on the little barsteward
CB Saint Posted 4 July, 2012 Share Posted 4 July, 2012 As he settles down to business, drop kick him over the fence into next doors. Tough love, it's the only way.

Tried that - well picking the little git up By the scruff - and throwing him out the gate. Works that time, but when my back is turned, he's at it again! If he doesn't, mind, I WILL get the shotgun out on the little barsteward Make him watch you chuck it over the neighbours fence, makes him learn where he should be doing it. Takes a week or two but worth the effort. P.s. make sure the neighbours are out at the time.

Top tip, cat kraps, clear it up.
SO16_Saint Posted 5 July, 2012 Author Share Posted 5 July, 2012 We live under a minute from a wood, and I assume that's where hes been going for the last 6 years. No neighbours have ever said anything to us, so he's not been going in theirs.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 5 July, 2012 Share Posted 5 July, 2012 is he using the same spot all the time? if so do not clear the mess but, next time you feed him, place his food bowl next to the mess. You need to perservere with this as he slowly learns and dumps elsewhere in the garden, but you'll end up with him realising it's not nice to have your food near your crap. Couple of spoonfuls of cement powder mixed with each feed should shorten the duration of the issue and possibly provide a ready made headstone? rallyboy Posted 5 July, 2012 Share Posted 5 July, 2012 To discourage neighbour's cats I found that a single blow to their face with a spade works well. It won't stop the crapping, in fact the opposite - the sight of you running at them wielding a weapon may in the immediate short term increase the problem - but hearing the resultant musical note echoing around the garden that says 'cat + spade' will make you feel better. If that doesn't work try a golf club. A 7 iron should do it. And if you're worried about injuries, wear gloves and sturdy boots.
Petersfield Saint Posted 5 July, 2012 Share Posted 5 July, 2012 You want the animal, you clear it up!! Better than him schattin in other peoples gardens. As a cat owner I agree with this. Ours only shiite in a litter tray indoors = our problem = happy neighbours. Shame most of the local dog owners don't think the same and think it's perfectly ok to let them crap all over the pavements and playing fields and not pick it up

An alternative... http://www.buzzfeed.com/bfeld/dead-cat-helicopter But yes, I used to live in a house with no cat and a bit of grass. Both neighbours had cats but saw fit not to have grass or veggies. Very frustrating....
