I've just driven back home from Bursledon Tesco after going to the pub, as I often do, and it's the one journey I'm guaranteed to drive as though I'm whiter than white. In fact, I even imagine an examiner sat in the passenger seat and I'm taking my test.

Well this time it paid off as I pulled up behind a black/dark Skoda Octavia at a set of lights and noticed an unusual array of bulbs on the rear parcel shelf. I stopped alongside and sure enough, the two occupants were wearing black stab vests. I gave the driver a wry smile and he replied with a small nod.

What's the deal with reporting the registration here? If you look around the Internet, there are plenty of sites announcing them.

This line was of note, on that first link:

"If the Police and the Government are continuing to wage war against the

Motorist. Then the Motorist needs intelligence to protect themselves."

What is the deal here? Protecting people from what?

Oh! There's HT123ABC, it's a cop car! Slow down/change driver etc.

Getting caught with no insurance? D&D? No MOT? Speeding?

If you are in any of those groups, or others, and you get caught?

Tough sh!t!

Some things are best kept quiet.

Exactly, if you're breaking the law, you deserve to get caught and raped to the full extent.

Don't want to get caught? Don't do owt illegal!

Simple.

And drink-drivers should be fully shafted.

Something to be proud of eh? Drink driving.

Although you have obviously chose to employ the old 'it wont happen to me' train of thought, perhaps you would spare a thought to the poor families who have lost innocent lives to c*nts with the same view!

Im with Gaz on this one, if you drink drive, I hope you get funny penetrated if you get caught

Lol. Did I mention I was in the least bit intoxicated?

The last alcoholic drink to pass my lips was the tiniest sip of champagne to toast at a wedding in September.

So why feel the need to mention that its the one journey you are guaranteed to drive whiter than white?

Surely it should be no different to any other journey which you drive unintoxicated?

By reading the thread it is obvious I am not alone thinking you were implying you were intoxicated while driving.

I was referring to the fact that I meticulously observed the speed limit including obeying 30mph signs at half past midnight. I can't help it if you jump to the wrong conclusions.

So when don't you obey them ?

I have come to a conclusion that Al de Man is a ****le. His original post has possibly made me jump to my conclusion.

Finally, someone perceptive enough to realise the truth.

Anyway, back to the actual question itself... oh f*ck it, I can't remember the reg now.

I drive a black Skoda VRS, you would not believe the number of cars that get out of my way on the motorway or slow right down when they see me.

I would believe it because I do exactly that. It's a little bit embarassing when it turns out to be a 1.4 Fabia.

I used to drive Ric's white Sierra Sapphire and had the same thing happen to me.

I know what you mean. My work mate has a brand new black octavia and for work we have to wear high viz jackets. The amount of people who slow down and have a look is quite funny. We drove into Mcdonalds at West Quay where a load of kids were ****ing around they saw the car and the bright yellow jackets and moved on

It's amazing how wearing high viz jackets puts some people on power trips.

If you're in Thames Valley area watch out for the Tango Victors

They should be easy enough to spot as long as they're good enough to leave those blue lights on all the time.

This is something I always do when I see a Skoda on the motorway. Thing is, it's also other cars they use now too, like Fords and Vauxhalls. I always presumed they would be 07/08 plates too, but looking at the link at the top, they range in ages up to 04?!

Easy ways to spot.

Obviously an extra aerial on the roof

Normally newish cars

No dealer stickers

Always have alloys

LED Matrix Sign on parcel shelf

Grille Lights & Lights in rear head rest

They are easy to spot but the problem is that by the time you're close enough to pick out all these details, he's already PNC checked you and got his mace spray to hand.

Why don't you take off the hi viz while driving?

Basically because its a pain in the arse taking off the jacket and putting it back on again every time we get in and out the car (which can be about 20 times a day)

These are not high viz vest things they are proper jackets, thermal etc and its frigging cold at the moment.

i've been pulled over by the skoda in question, followed me home from the pub :)

Im a good boy and don't drink and drive tho so it was all good :)

To be fair, Hampshire Constabulary have used a f***ing lot of unmarked Skodas.

The first one I knew about was dark blue/black (it's difficult to tell under street lighting) PX04***. I've seen a silver one pull someone by J8 M27. My girlfriend told me about a blue one with its lights going responding to a call in London Road. Then the one on Thursday night reg DX08***.

Silver Octavia on Millbrook Road on Saturady morning, ND57 PJ*.

A common factor which I've noticed is none on them have a Hampshire registration.

that Octavia stopped a van outside my house, not far from bursledon tescos last week, breath test and all that. They just arent fighting fair anymore ;-)

The further up the M3 you go, as well as Octavia roulette there is also A dark blue Volvo what makes it stand out is the fact that it is a Saloon rather than more common estate.

On the M40 up to Banbury they have a silver one, along with those shown above.

And on the M4 west of Swindon they run a Silver BMW X3 or X5,

As for the drink driving that was alluded to above, when I did a motorcycle course years ago the copper running it said that if he saw someone driving late at night bang on 30 he would pull them, he also said that at the same late hour if he saw someone using their indicators to turn when there was no one else about he would pull them too!

That's fair enough. I got pulled once because I refused to exceed the speed limit and as a result it looked like I had followed a copper for about a mile simply because we were both taking the same route.

One thing I always do is always do is make eye-contact with a copper if you pull alongside them. People with something to hide just can't do it and draw suspicion to themselves.

Hampshire also have a few custom V10 Skodas for any ultra high speed moptorway chases with supercars etc.

Cant imagine anything more annoying than a Skoda sitting on the tail of your Veyron...

That Skoda going past your Veyron like you were in reverse, as they pursue the stolen Lamborghini 2 miles ahead of you; perhaps?

Someone once told me that most plain police cars have high performance engines but that the wheel spec is seldom above the standard level as they clip kerbs etc. Also, that they will if they have them, remove the wheel covers if the wheels are very cheap and have these.

Posted
They do this so that they don't fly off in a chase and hit other cars. You will also notice no Unmarked car has dealer stickers.

And no dealer name on the number plate.
