Marsdinho Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 Couldn't see this posted anywhere and thought it deserved a thread of its own. Fair play, nice gesture. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/9795431.Birmingham_fan_drives_280_miles_to_buy_new_Saints_shirt_for_his_friend___s_funeral/?
eurosaint Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 I hope they never made him queue up for 2 hours like some people had to ??
percy windham Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 So the catchment area extends to Birmingham then.
Colinjb Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 An extremely poignant gesture. Best not to mention that my shirt managed to get to Coventry this morning after being ordered online on Sunday, he could have saved 35 quid in fuel..... but it's understandable that he wanted to be sure...
Turkish Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 So the catchment area extends to Birmingham then. Our catchment are is truely amazing.
Ziggy Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 Excellent gesture. Well done. By the way there are loads of Saints fans up this way. A couple of years ago I worked in an office where there were three of us.

A couple of years ago I worked in an office where there were three of us. If you are not careful you will turn this genuinely nice thread in to an argument with Turkish about our catchment area. I have to say fair play to the guy, and I'm glad it made it into the papers! Its nice to have a decent story of average people once in a while!

I have to say fair play to the guy, and I'm glad it made it into the papers! Its nice to have a decent story of average people once in a while! Actually he won't. It's an amazing gesture and good on him. I have family in Harrogate and there are a fair few Saints fans up there, including one who drinks in my FILs local, which is truely amazing.
trousers Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 A great story that cuts right through the petty debates we sometimes all engage in on here. This is what being a fan of football is all about.
Dalek2003 Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 Are you sure he didn't have a dodgy SAT NAV and thought he was going to Anfield ?
dune Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 What a nice thing to do. Fair play to him and RIP John. So sad to die so young.
percy windham Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 Our catchment are is truely amazing. That's not amazing Turkish, you are. Don't ever forget that.
Turkish Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 That's not amazing Turkish, you are. Don't ever forget that. Thanks Perce, you're pretty amazing yourself.
Bearsy Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 Surprised we is not selling them in Brum given obvious demand. Missed opportunity NC, missed opportunity!
