dune Posted 2 July, 2012 Posted 2 July, 2012 Just been watching the odious Ed Balls and like Millibean I simply cannot listen to anything he's saying because I find his lisp so irritating. Do these people know they are doing it? And if they do why don't they learn to speak properly?

Yeah people know their doing it and not all people can get rid of it so you'll just have to put up with it. HTH

SO16_Saint Posted 2 July, 2012 Posted 2 July, 2012 Lisps is such an unfortunate name for it, considering the people who have lisps can't actually say it correctly
badgerx16 Posted 2 July, 2012 Posted 2 July, 2012 Dunce takes another opportunity to mock people who fail to meet his eugenic standards.
dune Posted 2 July, 2012 Author Posted 2 July, 2012 (edited) Dunce takes another opportunity to mock people who fail to meet his eugenic standards. I just find people with lisps very annoying. You can't concentrate on what they are saying because of the lisp. Are you really saying you'd want Balls and Millibean representing the UK given how embarrassing that would be? You might not like this, but it'd make us a laughing stock and in this globalised world in which we live we need political leaders that can influence and be taken seriously. Can you really see a top CEO with a lisp representing a multinational? Edited 2 July, 2012 by dune
bridge too far Posted 2 July, 2012 Posted 2 July, 2012 Dunce takes another opportunity to mock people who fail to meet his eugenic standards. Ed M being Jewish you mean? Because he doesn't actually have a lisp
dune Posted 2 July, 2012 Author Posted 2 July, 2012 Ed M being Jewish you mean? Because he doesn't actually have a lisp The fact he's the son of an immigrant is irrelevent to him having a lisp.

As opposed to the bland yet condescending robotic persona of Dave ? I get the impression that every time he opens his mouth it pains him to have to communicate to the serfs who elected him. I suspect that just about every other leader in the EU is laughing at him behind his back.
badgerx16 Posted 2 July, 2012 Posted 2 July, 2012 Ed M being Jewish you mean? Because he doesn't actually have a lisp So why did our fellow poster pose the opening premise ?
bridge too far Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 So why did our fellow poster pose the opening premise ? Indeed!

Can you really see a top CEO with a lisp representing a multinational? Winston Churchill had a bit of a lisp; he seemed to do alright.
Wes Tender Posted 3 July, 2012 Posted 3 July, 2012 Even Sean Connery has a bit of a lisp. But I take your point that Milliband and Balls-up are irritating bastards.
PhilippineSaint Posted 5 July, 2012 Posted 5 July, 2012 If you are talking to a person with a lisp but you don't normally have one why after 5 minutes do you also speak with a lisp? It's not because you are taking the pith it is involuntary.
swannymere Posted 6 July, 2012 Posted 6 July, 2012 No witty retort from Dune yet, is he ashamed after slagging National Hero Winston Churchill? Funny how he goes silent when wrong.
