Read Buttner's statement in the context it is written and it is clearly talking about the club's overall ambitions and resources, not just in one off games like the opening day of the season. You are the man that translated booking a hotel conference room into there being a press conference today. He could have left it with "I'm impressed with Southampton and the stadium", he didn't need to then go on with the Man City claim. I don't know and I don't care because I'm not interested in every signing for every club. I'd I'm certainly not knocking one out because a full back from Vitesse Arnhem said he likes Southampton and their ambitions chairman or reading into what he might have meant or said. You have to build towards that, at the moment we can't even offer Europa League football next season, let alone Champions League.
