SNSUN Posted 1 July, 2012 Posted 1 July, 2012 The most annoying advert on telly is changing. Currently they have a countdown pictured at the end of the advert with an angry person that cannot change the channel, and the billboards have been changed to look like they've been graffitied. Apparently something's happening to them tomorrow. Hopefully they'll kill the tenor off and have decent ads but I doubt it. Any ideas?
Jillyanne Posted 1 July, 2012 Posted 1 July, 2012 Those adverts are the exact reason I won't 'Go Compare'
The Cat Posted 1 July, 2012 Posted 1 July, 2012 Drove past one in Woolston earlier. It said "Go get another job" and a pizza box had been drawn on the blokes outstretched hand.
Saintandy666 Posted 1 July, 2012 Posted 1 July, 2012 The marketing is working well. Always has, annoyingly. They have made loads more money since those adverts began.
The Kraken Posted 1 July, 2012 Posted 1 July, 2012 The meerkats p*ss all over that fat annoying tosser. Alexander and Sergei
Baj Posted 2 July, 2012 Posted 2 July, 2012 Suspect itll be comparison shopper / services directory. "go get another job" would imply jobs search engine. Guess we'll see...
Patrick Bateman Posted 2 July, 2012 Posted 2 July, 2012 The most annoying advert on telly is changing. Apparently something's happening to them tomorrow. Hopefully they'll kill the tenor off and have decent ads but I doubt it. Any ideas? This is excellent marketing. Everyone hates the advert, yet everyone talks about it so it's not forgotten. However, I suspect their sales aren't as good as the Meerkats marketing campaign which appeals more to Joe Average. They did some direct research recently to ask everyone which was their favourite Go Compare advert - the "old fashioned" one with the plinky-plonky piano music one, unsurprisingly, so now they've acted on this to get rid of the "annoying fat bloke" - you've noticed this, you've posted it on here, therefore their new campaign has already gone viral - masterpiece.
TopGun Posted 2 July, 2012 Posted 2 July, 2012 Whether you like or despise the adverts for insurance broadcast by Go Compare, Compare the Market or Confused.com, the simple fact is they are spending hundreds of thousands of money on the adverts which is passed on to the consumer. So out of principle I refuse to buy insurance from any insurance company that saturates TV with its adverts directly or is associated with a company that does the same.
