sfcuk fan Posted 1 July, 2012 Posted 1 July, 2012 . Do any of these actually work and if so which one would you recommend for a pc thats slowly grinding to a halt ? .
S-Clarke Posted 1 July, 2012 Posted 1 July, 2012 I never use any ''speed up your PC'' software, in most cases it just adds more crap to it. I'd just check your startup items, remove any unwanted programs that you installed ages and you've forgot about, run a full spy-ware scan etc.
pedg Posted 1 July, 2012 Posted 1 July, 2012 Replace your main system disk with a solid state drive (SSD).
pap Posted 1 July, 2012 Posted 1 July, 2012 Is it a laptop? If so, could be full of dust. That'll grind your computer to a halt as things start to heat up.

saint_stevo Posted 8 July, 2012 Posted 8 July, 2012 Avoid ccCleaner and the like. Any registry 'cleaner' will cause more harm than good. Housekeeping is key, defrag, disk cleanup, regular virus checks etc. SSD drive would help as well
