Not really. The new turnstiles supposedly have an alert system for when a concession ticket goes through; plus they're supervised by stewards who can visibly check who has just come through the turnstile, and whether they seem obviously not to be a "concession".

 

They can't really turn people away on merely based on stewards doing checks at a whim as to how old someone is. So they'll also be doing checks of people's student status at the turnstile? Will slow entry into the stadium down even more than last season.

Amazing how they didn't anticipate the first day of new season ticket sales for a Premier League team after a 7 year absence wouldn't be busy.

Well they can if its clearly a fully grown adult and they used a child's ticket. Or a senior ticket and they're not that old. Student tickets granted will be very tough to check, but as stated in the post above mine, the need to show proper ID to actually buy one in the first place is also a deterrent in itself.

What a bunch of amateurs.

 

The whole thing has been a complete and utter shambles.

 

I understand that maybe the website would crash and the lines be busy, although it's hardly The Olympics. We're not selling that many.

 

Tried to buy online, but all my Friends and family had dissapered. Could have bought 4 online all in my name and at renewal prices (what a cock up), but one wanted to pay by installments and I wanted them all to have them in their own names.

 

Rang up to book 4 tickets, after giving up after 3 hours yesterday. One for me, with my mate an existing S/T holder. No problem so far, got a seat 2 along from him.Then wanted 3 together for my nipper and 2 older boys in block 40. Found 3 together, went through names, customer numbers ect, then got to how do you want to pay? Two of them on cerdit card, one on instalments. "Oh you cant do that, you have to all pay in one method". Tried to explain that I was paying for my nipper, that one of my eldest had given me cash and the other could only pay by installments. You'll have to book seperate then . "Why the **** didn't you tell me that at the start". To which she replied "how did I know how you were going to pay". Said ok, can you still get 3 together. "Just depends if someone snaps the other one up whilst I'm booking the other 2". Luckily nobody did. But I cant believe there's no system that can process 2 different payment methods.

 

Then told me I needed to pick nipper's up to prove his age, no problem with that. She told me from Monday, but advised "I wouldn't go down there until at least the end of the week, because it'll be mayhem".

 

I'm no IT expert or no ticket guru, but I'm ****ing sure selling tickets to people who want to buy them has to be simplier than this. They also know there will be "mayhem" early next week, but instead of doing something about it, advise people to stay away.

Anyone guestimate how much money the club has lost with new tickets issued online at renewal prices?

 

At this rate we'll have to sell Rickie ;)

Imagine the poor sap who is going to have to manually trawl through all the transactions to see which ones were in error.

On a slightly different note,i had a mate go down to the ticket office with a friend who wasnt renewing.My mate wanted to have his seat and the ticket office said ok as long as my other friend was there to confirm his seat would be free.

Now my mate hasnt had a Season ticket for a couple of years yet was still able to renew at the reduced price.

Who does that work?

Yep. Small mistakes and individual errors are unprofessional but forgiveable. The whole season ticket sales window has been a complete shambles from the start, the club should be embarrassed how bad its been, the level of demand should have been completely expected and managed. Considering booking fees etc are at an all time high, the p*ss poor level of service is unforgivable really.

Well exactly, they've just got into this so unprepared and obvlious as to what to expect. What does this booking fee pay for exactly?

 

I don't usually moan about stuff like this, but so many people are hitting the same obstacles and they're not just little obstacles either.

 

You'd have thought with a brand new system we'd have a fresh start, but quite clearly the old booking system wasn't the main problem as the one entity carrying over is the ticket office staff and management.

As I understand it, yes. I think they'll have to give the customer the option of paying the actual price or cancelling the order. But yes, if a genuine mistake has been made and the price was priced wrongly accidentally, then the seller has no obligation to actually honour that price.

 

It does make it a significant faff for them to sort it out, mind. But then, if they'd have got it right in the first place....

Still trying to get mine....my login details have been wiped for some reason and the email it says it has sent me with a new login hasn't arrived either.....Not happy

Things are improving,after trying to buy tickets for the last couple of days but just getting an error message,Today I actually get to see the view from the seat I haven't purchased or even enquired about.....i still can't buy it though.

Perhaps they might even let me sniff the seat tomorrow to build up the excitement.

My old man had that problem when trying to sort him and his mates ticket. He requested his password about 2 days ago and it still hasn't shown up. Such an amateur system it's almost embarrassing.

 

He had to phone up in the end and after repeatedly getting cut off, he finally got through and ordered a couple of season tickets. It's almost like they didn't want his £1200.

ive just phoned in the end,didnt take too long thankfully.the woman on the phone said it was due to the high demand online that its not working,lol.only at saints eh,a nice new system you cant get in to.coys

Just called and block 3 is definately being held back from sale to ST holders. Find this very strange as I know for a fact quite a few renewels moved there. If I had moved there I'd be p***ed off to think I'll be surrounded by day trippers every game! Buying in block 2 now.

 

Just wondering if these are the seats the club are holding back for larger Cup allocations, ie move the bock 42'ers over there when offering 5k allocations etc.

i think it is more likely the club stick comp family tickets there to ensure it is sedated and no standing in front of the executive boxes

Spot on. That is the real reason the club wanted to move the away fans to the Chapel End. To be fair I wouldn't want to take a guest who was supporting the visiting team to a box at that end of the ground. Were existing ST holdrs able to renew in that block?

I sent an email this morning but they haven't replied yet.

 

I had that problem and asked the ticket office when I bought my Season Ticket today. The explanation was something to do with a password in an email sent out inviting me to renew my registration details. I vaguely remember receiving an email a while ago but ignored it because I thought it was for renewals. Apparently not so. The password is your date of birth. Doesn't really explain why you're told you'll be sent a new password in an email which never arrives. Can only suggest you try your dob. Failing that renew over the phone.

Phoned them (02381 number) this afternoon and she sorted it for me in seconds. Reset password for me. I logged in and changed it there and then.

I logged in and changed my password but it wouldn't let me sign in again with the new password - or the old password. Had to request a password reset and now I can log in with that. I'll not change it just yet. There's obviously a problem in this area.

Yep I remember that email. It made it very clear that you must complete the online form in order to be moved over to the new system. If your password doesn't work, I'm afraid it's your fault, not theirs! :)

same as you,ive had the deposit taken out of my account but have recieved nothing from saints for the direct debit agreement,

They never said anything about posting forms to me.

 

My dad got his renewal last month on the installment plan and never had to sign any forms to send back to the club, the Direct Debit just started being taken on the 15th like it should.

went to ticket office yesterday (as was told to go when purchased tickets last week, and rang monday to confirm, which they did) and show proof of concessions etc and have been told they are in the system and it wasnt necessary to see proof.....................right hand dont seem to know what the left hand is doing

My dad got his renewal last month on the installment plan and never had to sign any forms to send back to the club, the Direct Debit just started being taken on the 15th like it should.

 

I checked at the ticket office yesterday and was just told 'there was an issue with the banks, we'll be sending out letters explaining in the next couple of days'. All very vague and still not really sure what exactly is going on. Out of interest has your dad received his season ticket now?

I'd definitely give them a call then, using Twitter as a guide I'd say 85-90% of the people that applied for renewals have got them by now.

I've tried phoning and can never get through, which is why I went to the stadium yesterday. I was told a very vague "There's been a problem with the banks, there will be a letter sent out over the next couple of days". This was without checking any of my details (just me telling them that I ordered the tickets and was told I'd be sent forms and haven't been) and I'm not entirely sure the girl knew what she was talking about.
