hypochondriac Posted 9 August, 2012 Share Posted 9 August, 2012 I'd like to nominate B&Q. Not 'customer service' as such, but their website, a truly dreadful eCommerce experience. What kind of eCommerce store lets you do all your shopping (I wanted a load of garden stuff including fences, soil, cement etc etc) and then when you get to the checkout all you can do is reserve it at a store. The reason I was bloody shopping online is to get it all delivered as I don't have a van!! So I went to the Wickes website, ordered the same items and got it all delivered 2 days later - now that is service. So B&Q - most pointless eCommerce site award from me! I went there with my father last year to get a BBQ. We found someone and asked them to help us get the BBQ off the shelf. The shop assistant looked about 80 and started to lift this huge box off the shelf on his own. We suggested that perhaps that was not the wisest thing to do and we offered some help which he declined. We then waited another ten minutes whilst he fond another shop assistant to help him! The whole experience was truly bizarre.

oldskoolsi Posted 10 August, 2012 Share Posted 10 August, 2012 I had big problems with BT when I moved just down the road. reading other poster's comments hat seems to be a problem. They never cancelled my first line and tried to make me pay for it. As soon as contract was up I joined Virgin. i had a lot of issues at the start trying to get decent broadband, but, touch wood, no probs for a while. At the moment i consider Virgin to be the lesser of 2 evils but I'm sure that will change as soon as I get a problem. Student loans company are awful. They owe me £1500. I would advise ANYONE who has recently paid off thier loan to check to haven't overpaid. It's disgraceful you can't even see how much you owe or when it will be paid off on the webite. No one working there knows either. It's always just estimated and it is up to you to contact them if you think your loan is coming to an end. I suppose this is one of the reason why they are so cheap,no moeny is pent on frilly things like a good website or customer service. I don't really have a problem with the Apple genius was of doing things. When I have a problem I book an appointment at West Quay and it's sorted. It's a different way of working and yes, they are very condescending. Whenever it has been under warranty they fixed it no probs unless it was my fault (like the time i spilt red wine on my laptop, however i was able to get that back on house inusrance). mightysaints Posted 10 August, 2012 Share Posted 10 August, 2012 2nd BT Worse company i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We were building an extention at home and needed BT to disconnect the overhead line as it was holding up the build. They never turned up so i did it myself and pulled it back to the telecoms post over the rd using my climbing gear. 3 months later they turned up to do the job. Also tried booking a new line with them, hopeless. They never turned up twice so 2 days lossed from work and then charged me. I got them to repay in the end but it was a nightmare dealing with them. To date Sky and Virgin have been very good. Minor problems sorted out quickly
badgerx16 Posted 10 October, 2012 Share Posted 10 October, 2012 BUMP !!! Sorry to repeat myself but the f@@@@ing Student Loans Company. Yet again they have lost my son's details and he is having to resubmit everything, this is the 3rd time of asking. And to top it all it cannot be sent by email, it has to be printed out on dead trees and sent by snail mail.
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 11 October, 2012 Share Posted 11 October, 2012 YODEL OMFG they are the most useless bunch of PLEBS lol i have ever had the pleasure to deal with. They havent got a clue what "next day delivery" is.Might as well be next week, as far as their concerned. Closely followed by the enigma that is NTL/VIRGIN. Charged me for two years for something they never bothered to supply at £3.95 a month, when i complained , they offered me ONE MONTH back arseholes. Dropped them the very next day. JackFrost Posted 11 October, 2012 Share Posted 11 October, 2012 The jobcentre have just stopped my mate's jobseekers allowance as he is unwilling to give up his college course (that he's spent £1000 of his own money on and started of his own volition), because it is apparently too much of a hindrance for him to find full-time work, even though he is still actively looking for and applying for full and part-time work (including jobs which are exclusively night shifts). So if your on JA, whatever you do don't try and advance your career.
Micky Posted 11 October, 2012 Share Posted 11 October, 2012 Sky, bloody Sky. Recently moved from Northern Ireland back to England. Without going into all the gory details we were promised by Sky bloody Sky that they could make the move 'seamless' if we opted to stay with their service. Broadband would be switched off in the old house, and on in the new house on the same day - no problems. 'Seamless' transfer. Arrived in England to find no dial tone, no broadband, naff fukin all. Midweek phoned Sky bloody Sky to be informed that there had been a cock up and they couldn't connect for another 4 days (Tuesday). Shyte. Tuesday comes, no Sky bloody Sky. Phone them again to now be told there has been yet more of a cock up and they can't sort it for another 8 days. Upshot - Sky bloody Skys 'SEAMLESS FUKIN' TRANSITION' has now turned into a 15 day black hole. I am currently typing this connected to a bloody 40 quid dongle from 3, that is meant to last 3 months - but given my usage will struggle to serve me for 4 days...!!! Still another 5 days to do until we see if Sky bloody Sky actually manage to deliver.
