This weekend 4 of us are cycling 65 miles around the Isle of Wight for two charities based in bournemouth, Julias house and The Friends of Forest Holme.

The aim of Julia's House is to maximise and enrich the quality of life for Dorset children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Providing support from diagnosis to death and beyond for the whole family.

Friends of Forest Holme was formed in 1994 to raise funds to support Forest Holme which would be used to enhance the quality of life for patients with cancer and other life-limited illnesses.

If any of you nice people out there want to help out by donating a little of your hard earned cash to a saints fan who is a little un-fit and probably going to be very sleep deprived due to the arrival of my new little girl, then I am sure it will help me power through those hills so I can finish in one piece.

If you do feel like giving then please visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/Isleride4

Thanks in advance for any help.

(sorry if inappropriate mod's not really one to beg and plead but we have a target of £1000 and at the moment running a little short)

Regards,

Jonny

Well all done. Wow though it seems the isle of wight just have hills that go up, up, up and never go down again. Tackling strong headwinds, punctures, and my complete lack of fitness my friends and I managed to do this in 8 hours. (with 3 hours worth of stops of puncture repairs, lunch and a nice view of the 1600 boats going around the island (strange fact the boats's actually would cover less miles than us and their going around the sea.)) So a total ride time of 5 hours was achieved with our average pace being 12mph and obtaining a top speed of 40 mph.

Speaking for my self, my body hates me, my arse is soar-er than if I had picked the soap up in prison and my arms are a nice shade of red (yep forgot the sun cream)

But an excellent day and I feel all my pain is gone to a good couple of causes.

If you think this little achievement is worth something then please feel free to donate here http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/Isleride4

If your mental enough to want to join in next year then send me a pm or visit http://www.isleride4.co.uk and get in contact that way.

Cheers

Jonny.
