I have been contacted by the manager of the Arsenal Supporters Team with a view to playing against our fans when we meet over the New Year period. Is there anyone out there that knows if we have a team? I am sure we have and said I will get back to him. thanks. Simon

stevegrant is your man - shouldn't be difficult to find. We didn't play much last season (once, beating Watford IIRC) but with us getting a side out for Worldnet in Leeds in July, now would be a good time to ask.

I live just up the road from Arsenals London Colney training ground, I could spy for you.....

I think Preston aside, none of the IFC fans' teams get within a mile of the proper facilities. We did get to play at Preston's training ground once though, which was decent. We reciprocated by playing them on a cabbage patch at Wide Lane and another one at Fleming Park, after we'd kicked the little kids out of the goalmouth.

It was lovely playing on that training pitch at Preston. Just a shame it rained so hard you couldn't see the ball coming towards you!

I'd actually forgotten it rained. I can remember being forced to play defensive midfield whilst stevegrant gallivanted around up front whilst claiming to be in midfield alongside me. He did score direct from a corner though.

That was the morning after the abbreviated Blackpool night out - I scraped my new car down a wall in the lane behind the B&B on arrival, it took us 9 hours to get to Blackpool on the Friday afternoon/evening, and we only had 10 players when we arrived, so we recruited a bloke in a Saints shirt in a Blackpool pub who shockingly turned up in the morning, but unshockingly wasn't great in his trainers - which I've just realised was because it was in the wet.

It was also Killer's comeback for Saints, so must have been 2005/6.

As bystanders may have observed, IFC football is not necessarily about the quality of the football... :D

Gallivanting, I tells ya.

You could always ask them at WorldNet. Can't see us getting a team together pre-Emirates either though. Maybe a new recruitment drive and a revamp of the Forum kickabout is needed..? You can travel down from London, in an amusing role reversal of how I originally got involved. :)

Although I'm now 100% retired from competitive football I could be up for a forum kick-about. God knows I need the exercise!

I remember Summers asking me to play this, but I had flat bottom trainers on, in the end I was made to run the line and fell over a couple of times, was still a good laugh though.
