Fox Mulder Posted 26 June, 2012 Posted 26 June, 2012 Can anyone explain what Jay Spearing was doing in the gym of the Chilworth Manor Hotel today? HCDAJFU
Fox Mulder Posted 26 June, 2012 Author Posted 26 June, 2012 Maybe he was just visiting? Is he mates with Cork? Lallana? from Eng under 21's
Thedelldays Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 No. Let's not sign an U21 international who gets plenty of game time for Liverpool We can do better. Like a milwall player. lol
Thedelldays Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 So the predictable he's rubbish followed by dell days mocking because big clubs never have bad players. Somewhere between the two we might get a half sensible answer. He has done well for Liverpool and would suggest he would do well for us
Crab Lungs Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Good, far better than Henderson. But lets write him off anyway.
manji Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 I would have thought he would be a good signing for us he would be able shine in our team rather than being pushed down the pecking order by foreign mercanaries like he did at Liverpool.
Raging Bull Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Nobody at Liverpool played well last season culminating in their worst finish in decades. If he does happen to sign for us he could do quite well. That team wasn't very good not just a couple of players.
S-Clarke Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Why are people writing him off just because he hasn't shone for a Liverpool side? That doesn't mean he's automatically not good enough for us. I saw similar responses when people suggested Kalou ''Oh god no, he's ****'' - At chelsea, maybe, but that doesn't mean he's a bad player... There's probably nothing in this anyway.
SuperSAINT Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 He's too ugly for us. Solid little player though, but bit too similar to what we have?
mulletsaint Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Absolute joke the reaction on here. He's so much better than Hammond it's not true. I've watched Liverpool a lot the last couple of seasons and while he's made a few mistakes and had a couple of rough games he's still got the potential to be a really good player. The back end of the season before last he was superb. Young players can be inconsistent or haven't you noticed.
saintbob40 Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 He's far too ugly to play for Southampton and he is absolutely ****e.........so that is a big no from me.
S-Clarke Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 I don't know who our fans expect us to buy to be honest. There will be some very ''underwhelmed'' people here at the end of this window. Sod buying Liverpool squad players, let's buy their top players...!!! err yes, that'll work.
trousers Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Absolute joke the reaction on here It's not the first and won't be the last....exhibit A m'lud.... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?32345-Hooiveld-not-missed-by-Celtic
Mr Saints Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 He has done well for Liverpool and would suggest he would do well for us I take it you didn't see him play for Liverpool last season then?
OldNick Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 I think he is a terrier in midfield with a bit of bite, a will to win and has played in the PL.Good signing if true, but I suspect that it was someone who looks like him there are plenty around who look ugly like a rotweiler. Just go to Southsea common and thats just the women
The Kraken Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 I take it you didn't see him play for Liverpool last season then? Who are you expecting us to buy, if Spearing is nowhere near good enough?
The Kraken Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Seems like the usual array of crackpots and idiots have registered their discontent. "Hammond is better than him" is my favourite comment; although I confess it must be a wind-up, as surely no-one could be quite so ignorant as to think that. But I'm genuinely confused as to who our fans think we are able to sign, given that a young player for Liverpool who has received a decent amount of critical acclaim is deemed inadequate.
Hatch Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 has no-one seen him play, he is awful, just because he is at Liverpool does not make him automatically a decent player. He may well have been brilliant for their junior/youth teams but has been rubbish for the last two years. And yes, I do know much more than the whole Liverpool coaching set up , in case you were wondering.
Wurzel Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Would tie in with something I heard a few weeks ago, along the lines of forget the press rumours, the club is only looking to sign U21 Internationals . First JayRod, .............
MOSaint Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Good signing if true, never found a true replacement for Iain Dowie.

First JayRod, ............. Well if its based upon only signing current or former England U21 internationals we won't be signing Spearing; he's never actually played for them.
PhilippineSaint Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Good signing if true, never found a true replacement for Iain Dowie. I had always thought that Davros leader of the Daleks was a good replacement for Dowie
SNOWY Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Poor old Spearing, getting slagged off because someone who looks like him was spotted in Southampton!
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 I take it you didn't see him play for Liverpool last season then? Well I did and I thought he looked pretty good. Opinions eh! Granted, he wouldn't set the pulses racing if we were an established top half Prem team but we're not. He could be a very good addition to our squad.
Window Cleaner Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Obligatory youtube you forgot the CM2012 statistics though, a youtube video makes no possible sense without them.
fish fingers Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Poor old Spearing, getting slagged off because someone who looks like him was spotted in Southampton! No way are there two people in the world who look that odd.
PhilippineSaint Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 you forgot the CM2012 statistics though, a youtube video makes no possible sense without them. MLG will be back in a little while and will put us all right on that.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 I hope we have an AWFUL season next year and finish 8th!!!
Saint Garrett Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 He is really small which my mate who is a Liverpool fan says its his main problem. He gets bullied on the ball quite a lot, and ends up committing needless fouls. From what I've seen of him he's not great, but he might do well for us if he came (which I doubt anyway). Wouldn't be majorly bothered by his signing and would rather we signed someone better. As someone else said, just because he plays for a massive club, doesn't mean he's that good, especially in a very mediocre Liverpool side last season. He reminds me quite a bit of Gillett to be honest.
mulletsaint Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 I take it you didn't see him play for Liverpool last season then? has no-one seen him play, he is awful, just because he is at Liverpool does not make him automatically a decent player. He may well have been brilliant for their junior/youth teams but has been rubbish for the last two years. On numerous occasions, last season and the one before. What are you guys basing your judgement on, a ropey showing in the cup final? Most of the Liverpool team were poor on that day. When Dalgleish first took over the season before last, Spearing was excellent. That was before Dalgleish went on a midfielder buying bender and ruined the shape and fluidity that they'd had when he first took charge.
eharty9 Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 anybody who knows about football and isn't one of the blokes who shouts at guly will know that spearing is a very good player
saintbob40 Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 The illegitimate offspring of Iain Dowie and Susan Boyle. He should play with a sack on his head. As to his footballing ability, I have watched him stacks of times and I have been amazed that he ever got a game for Liverpool. He makes Jordan Henderson look like Pele....
Mbizzle Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 I work in the gym at chilworth manor and he was definitely NOT there!

I'm not saying he would be a bad signing because he is clearly better than Hammond but to say he had a good season for Liverpool is a bit silly. Seeing as our standards will not be as high Liverpool's, he might do a good job for us. Would prefer we signed a stronger, more imposing centre mid to play alongside Morgan.
Saint Garrett Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 A player like Diame would have been ideal IMO.
Faz Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 I work in the gym at chilworth manor and he was definitely NOT there! Nice try, but this thread has at least another 20 pages to run --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?5czfuv
Saint86 Posted 27 June, 2012 Posted 27 June, 2012 Obligatory youtube Under this link, The first comment has the following - used to descibe a guy who uses the word obviously 16 times in a minute on your link Got to love them liverpool fans! "Boss lad. down to earth and also a good, confident speaker. future Liverpool captain for sure!! mark my words... next season he will be a regular starter in midfield!!!"
