The Kraken Posted 25 June, 2012 Share Posted 25 June, 2012 I think if you read my post' date=' I have no problem with letting the club know that this needs to be sorted and that the TO have to improve this aspect of the service... that's a given... its the usual suspects - 'The Famous Five' (all called D ick and F anny) who love this sort of thing as it presents the ideal opportunitry to once again blow it out of all proportion... like I said would they come on threads congratualting the TO and club for the 20k ST sales that will have gone through without any possible hitch and have been exemplory?[/quote'] Of course not; we expect things to go right! We are trying to be leaders in class, of course. :smiley winky thing: I think its a shame that, typically, a lack of communication (either to the public or amongst staff) lets the ticket office down a bit, and portrays a picture that they're doing a bad job. They're not, of course, but its the stupid, needless stuff like this that give that impression. I think we've had something every year, all minor incidents, but all which add up to paint an unfortunate history of small mistakes. Removing the payment plan with zero notice; changing concessionary ages (OAPs) at the last minute; chaging some disability entitlements without pre-warning; sending out full season tickets instead of half-season tickets for installment plan payers; this student foul-up etc etc. All very small issues, but all so easily fixed with just a little bit of proper communication and planning. Fair points - but Just trying to add some perspective , which is fair. Mistakes and confusion is not great but these things do happen... for my the mark of good service will be how they now resolve the situation when IF the OP writes in pointing out the issues in a courteous and friendly manner... anything other than a swift and quality resolution would be 'poor service'. Alain Perrin Posted 25 June, 2012 Share Posted 25 June, 2012 Like FC said, mistakes happen - especially with new processes. I renewed two, no problems. As for the valid NUS card they have a bit of a problem. The card expires in August for every Student that left this year. Should they be entitled to a concession even though they might have a job? As someone said. Write / ring / explain = resolve.

theyin Posted 26 June, 2012 Share Posted 26 June, 2012 Crikey even if a student wasn't going to be a student half way through the season, would it really kill SFC to let them continue with a concession as said student gets on their feet by way of goodwill and in hope of continued loyalty? In this case though, as per usual it's simply a case of employees disseminating the wrong information. You get the same unknowledgeable donkeys every time you deal with a call centre

Back to the thread, i am getting my ST next week so hopefully all these mini hiccups have been sorted now COYR.

I know a few oldies who have season tickets, and they are considerably better off than most supporters. I'm pretty sure the various discounts offered as "perks" of the job, increase the price for the rest of us.
Bucks Saint Posted 28 June, 2012 Share Posted 28 June, 2012 just a quick word to PRAISE the ticket office. My sister had a season ticket last year but died of cancer sadly (mid 40s). I asked if I could renew her seat. I was not 100% hopeful but thought it was worth asking. The ticket office at St Marys came back very quickly. Of course they wanted some evidence of what had happened, my relationship to her etc - fair enough. A copy of the death certificate was handed over at 3pm today, by 4pm they had updated all the customer and seating systems (old and new), linked the two previous customer numbers, taken my payment and I am the proud owner of my sister's seat. Well done Saints, very friendly and efficient and frankly they did not have to agree at all. Thanks to them and to my sister. COYR

Well you could argue that a concession is a perk of being a student. You know exactly what he meant, he isn't asking for anything other than what he is entitled to as a student. I mean if he was asking for something that he wasn't entitled to then fair enough but he isn't...
locksheathsaint101 Posted 29 June, 2012 Share Posted 29 June, 2012 I'm sure it says in the new "instructions" booklet you get with this years season ticket how conessions work at the gate anyway. When you scan your card, if your season ticket is adult the system light goes green and you can go straight through to the ground. If your season ticket is a concession the light goes green and amber meaning you are a concession and you would need to prove to the ticket person at the gate before they let you go straight through... for example showing your student card if you're a student. So regardless if they have checked you as a legitimate student you'll still have to show your student card at the gate for games.... so it's pointless them checking you when you buy your ticket...? JustMike Posted 30 June, 2012 Share Posted 30 June, 2012 I'm a student and I'm a NUS card holder which entitles me to concession prices for my season ticket (it saves me about £95) Last season I had no problems whatsoever, I had to renew my ticket face to face obviously because I had to show my card, this season has been a different kettle of fish!! I popped down the ticket office Friday and told the young girl that I would like to renew my ticket to which she replied "sorry sir our system has you down as a full paying adult" I showed her last seasons season ticket which clearly had me as a student and I also produced my NUS card as proof as my student status, to which she replied "no we don't accept those" I told her that she should probably ask someone senior for clarification, she popped around the back for a minute and came back telling me that because my NUS card expires during the season it couldn't be used and that I would have to produced NEXT YEARS NUS card to get my ticket, I tried to explain that ALL NUS cards expire in August and get renewed in September so that means they would have had to decline every NUS card holder?? At this point I was getting alittle red faced so I decided to walk away and try the next day, when I got home I thought I'd phone the club for clarification on the subject and was told by a more helpful chap that said if I could get the college to send them an email saying that I will be a student coming into the new academic year then that will be fine as proof, this was easy enough sort and after afew phone calls all was sorted and I had purchased my 2012/13 season ticket!!!! Brilliant right? Nope.. Nothing is that easy with our beloved football club, and please remember that I jumped through all their hoops and done everything they asked of me regards of how mindless I thought their requests were. About an hour ago I received this email - Hi Shaun, I’m afraid we cannot accept emails from tutors as proof of continuation of your studies. We would need to receive a copy of your enrolment letter or an official College document confirming your continuation on your course. Kind Regards, Awesome!!! And to top it off I go on holiday tomorrow so I have no time to sort anything, but as they've already taken my money shall I just ignore this email??! would they not have taken your campus card in addition to the NUS card? Campus cards usually have the end date of study on it
