eurosaint Posted 26 June, 2012 Share Posted 26 June, 2012 Why is it a rip off? It's cheaper than a normal game. It's going to cost money to bring such attractive opposition to our stadium. Its going to cost money to open the stadium for the day, pay the staff, stewards etc. All true fans will be there to pay their respects and enjoy a wonderful day put on by Nicola Cortese. Some of our fans are so ungrateful. All the more reason to have a rational and sensible pricing policy ! £25 tickets do not ensure a higher revenue than £15 as it clearly depends on the number of people who turn up (law of diminishing returns and all that) ! Surely Nicola would achieve an even more wonderful day if the stadium was to be half full rather than almost empty ??

dune Posted 26 June, 2012 Share Posted 26 June, 2012 Anderlecht just announced instead of Rangers. The whole Liebherr cup concept is daft anyway, but at least with the Gers coming down it would have redeemed it somewhat. Now I can't see any attraction. JRM Posted 26 June, 2012 Share Posted 26 June, 2012 No chance of going to any of those having spent £600 on a season ticket. Pointless games, would go if less. They might as well just open the itchen for all of them, and just block 1 for the wolves game.

bpsaint Posted 26 June, 2012 Share Posted 26 June, 2012 Was a cracking game last time Anderlecht were at St Marys, that Champions League ticket package seems very reasonable too, although to boost the attendances a bit wouldn't of done much harm to round it off to £50 and include Wolves in it. JRM Posted 26 June, 2012 Share Posted 26 June, 2012 We should have kept Rangers, ditched Arsenal and invited Celtic instead to make it interesting.

Anderlecht are much more interesting imo and will at least be competitive. Football wise these "training sessions" offer nothing, so for me the only attraction was seeing our brothers from north of the border in town. They would have travelled in good numbers I reckon. Now it's just gonna be a few saints fans dotted about, zero atmosphere, and players not wanting to get injured. For that sort of game you should be talking a fiver to get in and use it as an opportunity for families to go.

I have no interest in seeing "our brothers from north of the border in town" nor the good numbers they would have bought. I couldn't care less if I was the only one watching in the ground, If I'm paying 25 quid I want to see some half decent football. I don't find the idea of watching Lee Wallace and a bunch of young **** poor scottish lads appealing, but I do find the idea of watching some talented Arsenal youngsters and an interesting team from abroad quite interesting. Football wise, Anderlecht are so much more enticing than an already below average side that is now ever further depleted of talent.

Crazy Diamond Posted 26 June, 2012 Share Posted 26 June, 2012 It's probably already been said but who's smart idea was it to invite a club that was always likely to have to pull out? Even if you say it was organised before the end of the season, Rangers were in deep **** from pretty much the word go weren't they? Anyway, £25 for a pre-season tournament is farcical and a 'Champions League bundle' doesn't really look much better.

I'm not normally one to criticise booking fees in principle but to charge 3 times for something that's being advertised as a single purchase is, in terms of consumer law, borderline legal I would venture.... Two Adult Champs League + two U11 Champs League costs £112. So they are actually charging a £1.50 processing fee for a "free" U11 ticket per match - which I didn't think they could do. Nice.
