memorial cup

was actually thinking of going this year with the added extra of the olympic torch but at those prices they can take a running jump, they really need to get a grip of pricing for friendlys and cup games against weak teams, sure they should already notice this by the empty ground at these games.

£25? You have to be Joking, playing against a team that at best is looking to be rebuilt with much worse players and an Arsenal reserve side. They hardly filled the stadium for the last one with more appealing opposition.

Totally agree, Can't see Arsenal with Theo, Oxy or RVP playing & with Rangers having half a team wanting out what's the point?

I was considering going to see the Olympic Torch, then realised I can see it between the ferry terminal and stadium for free anyway, can go in the club shop and have a look at the newly launched away kit for nothing, and am not remotely interested in an early-season kickabout between Rangers and Arsenal (probably) reserves either. So in short, no ta.

Had it been a tenner I'd have gone, £15 and I'd have had to think about it. £25 makes me fear for matchday prices next season (though I have my ST, which works out at £31.50 a match, so we know they're going to be over £32 a game anyway).

Surely it would have made more sense to sell them at half the price, fill the stadium and that way they can test the new access system properly, and look good when they show the Olympic torch going round on telly

I'll be there - £50 for a family of 4. My boys will get to see the Olympic torch at their home ground (how often does that happen?) with a bit of footy at the same time. Looking forward to it.

There's always 1 isn't there.

What silly pricing. Works out okay of you're taking an under 11. But £25 to watch 3 youth teams in a training game. No thanks

3 words. Out of touch

Well they're obviously not going to be youth teams are they? Edited by Sour Mash

You have to wonder whether the olympic torch is the reason for the high prices rather than the fact that we are in the Premier League now.

The teams last year were just as good as Arsenal and 'newco' Rangers will be with half a team. Strange move by the club and I fear that the attendance will reflect many fans discontent at the extremely high prices.

I know the Olympics only comes around in your home country, once or twice in your lifetime, but at the end of the day, this is a football club and we are football fans and football is all we really want to see from our money. I may be wrong.

For those that think thes prices are too high, what sort of prices do you think will be reasonable for league games this coming season?

I think these prices are far too high.

For league games I'm expecting a range of £35 to £45 for the cheapest tickets; more for the Itchen and Kingsland Premium seating in the Cat A games. I think matchday ticket prices are going to come as a real shock to some people.

Wow, no chance I'm paying that for a friendly.

Makes you wonder what the league prices are going to be next season...

You have to assume that the season ticket price per game will be slightly cheaper than the matchday ticket price.

New (adult) sales of STs per location are as follows:

Family: £555, 19 games, £29.21 per game

Wings/goals: £600, £31.58 per game

Itchen & Kingsland: £670, £35.26 per game

Kingsland Premium: £720, £37.89 per game

Itchen Premium: £780, £41.05 per game

Now that's just a rough benchmark as there will be different price categories (A-C) depending on the opposition, but I imagine a pound or so above those prices would be the Cat C price, with Cat B and Cat A a little higher in each case.

That's sort of my point. Saints fans are going to have to get used to paying £35-45 a game on a regular basis unfortunately. I'd imagine that £25 is in line with what most other Prem teams charge for a prestigious friendly.

I guess it's an easy choice at the end of the day - I found an old ticket for a game at Blackburn in 2003/04 and it cost £23!

Looks like being in the lower leagues has us used to much lower ticket prices! All that said I will draw the line at going if it goes over £30/game!

£25 for a knock about for 45-mins against two British teams seems a bit high - and once petrol is paid for and overnight accommodation looks an expensive weekend!

There must be a point in everyones life where football just isn't that important that the cost does matter? I guess I am fast reaching that - I'd rather have a meal out with the missus (which I can justify) than pay over £30 for 90-mins of Saints. All about value for money - and football doesn't deliver these days!

There won't be any adult matchday tickets at the prices you are willing to pay.

Well it wasn't great last year and I certainly didn't stay for the whole day. At that price they can forget it.

They priced it just right last year, and there was stuff for the kids etc, and you got to see 2 top European teams.

How they've justified the price increase this year is beyond me, bizarre. Playing against a team we'll play twice next season, and a team who will not really be able to field many players. I was looking to go to this...but £25 is insane. If we were up against teams like Napoli or Dortmand etc...then maybe you could justify it. It's also a very early pre-season game, players will be no where near fitness and there won't be much to shout about in that sense.

£25 stays in my pocket for this one. They've got it all wrong.

you don't HAVE to buy a new shirt when you go....

Equally you don't have to go to the game(s) to buy a new shirt. The home shirts are available from Sunday anyway, it's only the away which doesn't come out until 14th.

No thanks i wont be paying £50 to watch Saints play Arsenal reserves and the dregs of club 19 at St Mary's. Or some unknown waddle around the pitch with a gawdy lighter aloft waving to banks of empty seats. shame the club are trying to cash in on the olympic flame being in the city. shame would have have been good to see a large crowd to what is suppose to be a memorial to the man who rescued this club and not a pay day.

Pretty sure my renewal for the Northam is £575 (plus ridiculous booking fee) so actually £30.26 for Wings/goals. Either way, the point still stands, you wouldn't expect Cat C to be less than £32.

I stayed away from renewal prices; the ones I quoted were for new sales only. For the reason that you'd expect matchday prices to be slightly more expensive than the most expensive comparitive season ticket price (otherwise there's no point buying a new season ticket, you'd just as well go game by game).

Given that we only had 7,000 or so in attendance last year, I'd suggest they got the pricing wrong then too. £25 a ticket is way out IMO and I think we'll do well to get more than 5,000 through the gates.

People moaning about the teams need to think again. FIFA want games to be played at St. Mary's to test Hawkeye, hence why we also have a few home friendlies. We don't have to pay for Arsenal to visit and Rangers fee would be minimal, we also had to think about when teams would be available for a friendly.

At the end of the day, it's 2 of the biggest teams in British football, 3 45 minute games, Olympic torch and entertainment. What do people want? AC Milan and Barcelona for a fiver!?

Bilbao and Werder Bremen for £17 with a double new kit launch was just about tolerable.

Most likely.

Rangers will only have youth to pick from and Arsenal won't be playing many first teamers so soon after the euros.

Either way, too expensive.

And you can see the Olympic flame for free everywhere else.
