As far as I'm aware we don't have a Club motto like some other Clubs do - 2 questions:

1) Should we have one?

2) What should ours be?

I'm not sure about 1, and 2 could encourage all sorts of answers. "Together as one" would be an obvious choice - but this situation has only really happened fleetingly since I've been a Saint (including the present, thankfully)! Some might argue "divided" would be more relevant to our past, but surely that's more of a motto this forum should be looking to adopt :D

The club seem to now use 'Together we stand' which is pretty good as far as these things go. Not sure what that would be in Latin though.

According to a google translator - "Convenerunt in unum"

together as one - simil ut unum

SIMUL TOGETHER, AT THE SAME TIME, SIMULTANEOUSLY, AT ONCE

UNA TOGETHER, BY ONE WAY, IN COMPANY, SIMULTANEOUSLY, AT A TIME

control the controllables - moderari controllables

Pride of the South - Superbia meridiem

Centurion: What's this, then? "Romanes eunt domus"? People called Romanes, they go, the house?

Brian: It says, "Romans go home. "

Centurion: No it doesn't ! What's the latin for "Roman"? Come on, come on !

Brian: Er, "Romanus" !

Centurion: Vocative plural of "Romanus" is?

Brian: Er, er, "Romani" !

Centurion: [Writes "Romani" over Brian's graffiti] "Eunt"? What is "eunt"? Conjugate the verb, "to go" !

Brian: Er, "Ire". Er, "eo", "is", "it", "imus", "itis", "eunt".

Centurion: So, "eunt" is...?

Brian: Third person plural present indicative, "they go"..............................:p

I quite like "Together we stand" as our current motto. I used to like the old one too "The spirit of Southampton".

This forums motto . The club is **** and you no you are . . If I had a motto that

Is appropriate to the club then that would be "in Arduis fidelis " for those don't know see my paving slap outside the main entrance of SMS .

Perhaps we should also have another statue erected, in a Roman like pose of our once leader, with inscription "I am Ruperticus"
