Doorman Abdul Majid told 7DAYS: “He left with a man and a woman. They looked European and she had yellow hair.

“They seemed to be friends and to know each other.” The Egyptian security man said he remembered Timmy arriving at Rock Bottom, in Bur Dubai, shortly before midnight.

He said: “He was drunk and at first I said he couldn’t come in. But two friends came out and said they would look after him, so I let him in.”

But once inside Timmy was found curled up sleeping in front of the bar and staff woke him up and took him outside. There, Majid steered him to the front of an adjoining hair salon, where the drunk Scot sat on stairs for about 20 minutes.

Staff then remember Timmy zig-zagging along the pavement towards the Regent Palace Hotel, where they said he spoke to a British expat regular known only as Colin.

He also spoke to a woman of Asian appearance. Both could hold vital clues about what happened before Timmy disappeared.

Majid added: “Timmy then went to a taxi and opened the door. I am 100 per cent certain a man and a woman got in the taxi with him.”

We had an email on this some weeks back, the family got into gear very quickly, contacted local Clubs/Groups etc.

The guys down at RockBottom are very cut up about this as well. Abdul Majid has worked there for years and is one of the better doormen in town, knowing how to deal with the flotsam (inc us lot) that always end up at RB.

The first train of thought was that being married with kids he had found one of the local lasses and was having a fling, but as details emerged it doesn't sound good and a lot of people are trying to help.

The taxi fleet here is all linked via GPS to the control centre and in theory the Police could track the movements of any one of the thousands of cabs knowing the time date and start location, the problem is the sheer amount of data and the way it is stored.

The story (unfortunately) mirrors that of a South African girl a few years back - she just vanished - same thing posters and stories etc. Eventually the Police arrested her former boyfriend and charged him with murder but they still haven't found her.
