S-Clarke Posted 20 June, 2012 Share Posted 20 June, 2012 Does that mean that the current megastore will just become the corner shop....???? Or where the away fans will enter, as that can then be turned into an independent concourse. They've always wanted to shift the away fans tbf. S-Clarke Posted 20 June, 2012 Share Posted 20 June, 2012 Good idea that! Would make sense tbh, it looks as if that 'link' between the building and the Chapel is for our fans, with the turnstiles 'above' so they don't mingle with the away fans underneath...possibly. Then you'd have an all saints northam end, with an extra tier. Would create a mini-kop end.
Thedelldays Posted 20 June, 2012 Share Posted 20 June, 2012 If they ever shuffled the stands around at SmS. You do realise that our fans moan enough. This would send some over the edge

One of the best atmospheres at SMS was the MK Dons JPT second leg, the Northam looked and sounded excellent that night. I dont see why it's an issue, they stick the fans in the corner at Leciester which is a virtually identical ground without any problems. Wasn't it the OB that put a stop to it all last time? I can't remember to be honest, but I know one of the previous issues were the problems with segregation due to the design and build of the ground - and that the Northam end was the only suitable place at that point, but if there is another place they could stick it, it would surely be a corner...and the Itchen/Chapel corner? Right at the front of the stadium, no issues with the away fans having to walk right around the stadium amongst all the other fans, etc etc...easy access to whatever they'll do with the waterside. And with the megastore already there, I guess it's already 'built' in a way that it's segregated from the other concourses. And from a total business head....what about making the home fans walk through the mega store to get to their seat in the Chapel each game....? bit cheeky tbh, but could happen. Matthew Le God Posted 20 June, 2012 Author Share Posted 20 June, 2012 No, they just made it smaller. It is a shift of sorts. If you had a family ticket in one of the blocks that is no longer the family section, then you are forced to move to keep a family ticket.

I, along with 5 others, have had to move. 4 have gone to block 9 and 2 of us to block 40.
The Kraken Posted 20 June, 2012 Share Posted 20 June, 2012 In any case, I'm in no way convinced the whole idea of turning the Northam into a home "kop" would work. It doesn't seem to be what a lot of our fans actually want. I remember when we moved from the Dell, there was a lot of activity of the Saints list and such like on where to get a season ticket; majority opinion went for the singers was the Northam and a lot of that was because it was close to the away fans. Since then the Itchen corner has developed its own singing section that envelopes the away section, and it works well. I can see that if the away fans were moved to the Chapel a lot of the Northam fans might just want to move there. Also, in the current incarnation, moving the away end to the Chapel would put it right next to the family section. Not sure how wise that would be. I know it seems a bit weird we give some of our home end to the away fans, but I actually think it works quite well.
Fan The Flames Posted 20 June, 2012 Share Posted 20 June, 2012 How i wish i could be a great guy like yourself and be able to resort to calling people *****s on internet mong boards because i dont agree with their opinion on something. As i said there was a lot of good stuff in it, but I felt there was an underlying theme of self congraulation from Cortese, plenty of "what a great guy the chairman is" type quotes. Which IMO is a bit unessasary, he is doing a great job, we dont need it rammed down our throats everytime anyone from the club speaks. You belittle this board and all on here, yet not only do you spend all your time on it, you have gone to all the bother of cultivating an online persona, how sad. You are so up yourself that you find it hard to stomach a bit of praise for the chairman who has done a great job, yes we all know the cash at his disposal helps, but it would be hard to deny he hasn't done a bad job. Interview a footballer the world over at a club going through a good patch and he will mention; the passionate fans, great manager, good set up and ambitious chairman. But you can't let it pass your little saints web guise has to chip in with its anti everything diatribe and hound every thread with your patronising and sanctimonious postings. But if it makes you feel better about yourself carry and fill your boots.

dune Posted 20 June, 2012 Share Posted 20 June, 2012 have you got any skin left on your finger tips following that bitter rant?? He still has a long way to go to top Beckys outburst. Right, you know what? F**k this place! Honestly f**k it! Is it really any wonder that all of the decent posters have deserted? Really? I post a thread in the lounge, which is supposed to be for sensible discussion, and within a handful of posts it has descended into petty insults and bickering by the same usual bunch of d1ckheads who haven't got anything sensible to contribute so they resort to personal abuse instead. And Turkish, do you not see the irony of the fact that you posted that long rant on the 'why this place is dying thread' recently yet it is mostly because of pathetic f**king morons like you, who can't seem to make a single sensible post without being abusive towards other posters, that this place is dying? I take my leave of you all. Thank you very much Saintsweb. To all of the sensible posters I have enjoyed debating with over the years I thank you and wish you well. To the tvv@ts who treat this place like a school playground, I hope you're really proud of yourselves. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?31558-Apple-now-richer-than-the-USA! saints triumph Posted 21 June, 2012 Share Posted 21 June, 2012 I am at work with a guy that lives opposite the stadium and he got a phone call from his wife earlier asking him what all the ques were round the stadium. He not being a football man didn't know. So I said it was season ticket renewals. Are there that many saints fans to tight to pay £1.50 booking fee.
