Matthew Le God Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 (edited) Deserves its own thread... Enjoy. Edited 20 June, 2012 by Matthew Le God
hypochondriac Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Just confirms what I thought in that it is a PR piece and would be a good thing to show potential sponsors or corporate clients.
dune Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Stirring music, and then they show our special needs fans in face paint and it becomes farcical.
Joesaint Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Stirring music, and then they show our special needs fans in face paint and it becomes farcical. Bit harsh!
dune Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Bit harsh! Good point, it's an insult to those with special needs to compare them with our fans.
suewhistle Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Heh, heh, the shot of the flag towards the end "The South coat is Ours"..
dune Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 The red box has gone brown in the video. Looks like a giant shed.
Bucks Saint Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Heh, heh, the shot of the flag towards the end "The South coat is Ours".. What Fur?
Thedelldays Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Pretty good No one can't say that we seem more premier league as an outfit this time Let's hope the team does us proud and stay up first shout
dune Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Pretty good No one can't say that we seem more premier league as an outfit this time Let's hope the team does us proud and stay up first shout It's only a DVD Jamie, the acid test will be the catering, and we still don't have a radio station.
Matthew Le God Posted 20 June, 2012 Author Posted 20 June, 2012 It's only a DVD Jamie, the acid test will be the catering, and we still don't have a radio station. Maybe that is what this is for... The red box has gone brown in the video. Looks like a giant shed. Some kind of radio station/catering facility combo?
dune Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Maybe that is what this is for... Some kind of radio station/catering facility combo? Wouldn't a broom cupboard suffice for the radio station, and hospitality without a view of the pitch doesn't make sense. It's probably a Gala bingo hall draw in people from Shirley.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Why do any of you consider yourself supporters?! Bunch of bedwetting moaners. Club has never done as pro as this.
Matthew Le God Posted 20 June, 2012 Author Posted 20 June, 2012 (edited) Wouldn't a broom cupboard suffice for the radio station. With Ed the Duck and Andi Peters presenting Saints FM? This guy as the head of catering... And the janitor... Edited 20 June, 2012 by Matthew Le God
Golden Balls Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Nice little video. Obviously no pleasing some people though.
skintsaint Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 blimey...great positive stuff, what isnt there to like about that?!
shirleysfc Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 It's only a DVD Jamie, the acid test will be the catering, and we still don't have a radio station. Does your mummy give you a sweetie every time you troll a thread?
shurlock Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Just confirms what I thought in that it is a PR piece and would be a good thing to show potential sponsors or corporate clients. You forgot to add potential buyers? That's much unlike you
hypochondriac Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 You forgot to add potential buyers? That's much unlike you Quite correct! Could well be the case though I reckon we would be more likely to sell after establishing ourselves in the Premiership as tat would be when we get the best price
Fan The Flames Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 (edited) Well that stirred the pride I have in the Saints for what they have given us over the last coupe of years, it also tweaks the hope and expectations for our future. Good work SFC. Edited 20 June, 2012 by Fan The Flames
Saint_lambden Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 It had Cortese on it for about 10 seconds. Therefore, I am going to pretend I don't like the bloke or that he is the Dictator of Southampton for attention on forums.
S-Clarke Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 The fact of the matter is that we've never had it so good, so think before you jump up and down and criticize how things are done. There's nothing not to like about that video, it's positive and the majority of things in that video are actually happening - so it's not just PR spin.

There's nothing not to like about that video, it's positive and the majority of things in that video are actually happening - so it's not just PR spin. I don't think it's just PR spin, I just wouldn't be surprised if the primary motivation for the video was for PR purposes and to attract sponsors and more corporate clients- and that isn't a bad thing.
Turkish Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Just confirms what I thought in that it is a PR piece and would be a good thing to show potential sponsors or corporate clients. Yes i agree. Some good bits in it but a lot of talking up the chairman and what a great job he is doing. That was all a bit unnessasary to be honest.
S-Clarke Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 I don't think it's just PR spin, I just wouldn't be surprised if the primary motivation for the video was for PR purposes and to attract sponsors and more corporate clients- and that isn't a bad thing. It's been sent out to thousands of regular fans though, so I doubt that's the primary motivation. I'd say it's more along the lines of the club building on the feel good factor and communicating their plans for the future with the fans. That's how I see it anyway. I'm pretty sure they have lots of corporate spin which we never see.
Fan The Flames Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 ...hospitality without a view of the pitch doesn't make sense. It's probably a Gala bingo hall draw in people from Shirley. Most hospitality in Wembley, Arsenal etc doesn't have a view of the pitch, it's not just about corporate boxes anymore. Unlike you at least the people from Shirley (whatever you mean by that) leave their bedroom.

Well if it's not a bad thing then why are you knocking it then.
cellone Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Well that stirred the pride I have in the Saints for what they have given us over the last coupe of years, it also tweaks the hope and expectations for our future. Good work SFC. Same here.
hypochondriac Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Well if it's not a bad thing then why are you knocking it then. I wasn't...

I'm pretty sure they have lots of corporate spin which we never see. Sending it to fans is a good bit of PR but IMO the DVD and that PDF file from the other day looks and reads like a device to attract corporate sponsors and for the business community. Again it's just my opinion.
hypochondriac Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Not sure... I don't think creating some PR to attract corporate sponsorship is a bad thing (it's actually a good and logical step), but I thought the video itself is a bit overly dramatic. You see?
Fan The Flames Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Yes i agree. Some good bits in it but a lot of talking up the chairman and what a great job he is doing. That was all a bit unnessasary to be honest. You really are a *****, 3 people out of 11 mention the chairman and what they said is true.
colehillsaint Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 I just think its nice that the club are talking up the fans. To some extent I think they see that as a self fulfilling prophesy.
Matthew Le God Posted 20 June, 2012 Author Posted 20 June, 2012 The red box will be the new megastore. HTH It more than just the red box, there is a lower building that sweeps around the Chapel stand and connects to the red box.
Faz Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 The red box will be the new megastore. HTH It's the trophy cabinet. HTH.
Turkish Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 You really are a *****, 3 people out of 11 mention the chairman and what they said is true. How i wish i could be a great guy like yourself and be able to resort to calling people *****s on internet mong boards because i dont agree with their opinion on something. As i said there was a lot of good stuff in it, but I felt there was an underlying theme of self congraulation from Cortese, plenty of "what a great guy the chairman is" type quotes. Which IMO is a bit unessasary, he is doing a great job, we dont need it rammed down our throats everytime anyone from the club speaks.
SO16_Saint Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 cracking. Im sold. Not sure what on, but Im sold.
DJ_TOAST Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 could you not have found a video convertor without that annoying http://www.leawo.com in the middle of the video

dune Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Does your mummy give you a sweetie every time you troll a thread? She has a big tin of quality street and i'm now down to the toffee pennys.
Micky Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 The red box will be the new megastore. HTH Does that mean that the current megastore will just become the corner shop....????
dune Posted 20 June, 2012 Posted 20 June, 2012 Most hospitality in Wembley, Arsenal etc doesn't have a view of the pitch, it's not just about corporate boxes anymore. Unlike you at least the people from Shirley (whatever you mean by that) leave their bedroom. With cash converters, Aldi, and the new Gala bingo at the Cortese Dome the worlds their oyster. Judith Chalmers was recently filming for the next series of wish you were here from the mutant mile.
