Peter Crouch, 2005 friendly against the USA I think.

Current internationals - Lee was left out of the last Japan squad wasn't he? Or was that just down to injury? No-one else.

Yes Crouch was in the squad for a tour of the US when we played them and Colombia, I remember at the time thinking Paul Smith had a chance of being called up. Now look at him. Can't get a game for Forest and was out in the cold here in favour of Kevin Miller.

Crouch definitely played, I remember him putting a ball through for Michael Owen to score.

Weren't we due to play Trinidad and Tobago as well but pulled out, causing Jack Warner (allegedly) to sabotage our bid for the World Cup/Euros?

Yeah Crouch played. An interesting squad back then, Kieran Richardson got a game, scored a free kick against the States. Don't remember anything about Trinidad & Tobago.

That's got to be the most recent Saints England international.

Wayne Bridge?

Eriksson gave him his first full cap against Netherlands on 13 February 2002. Peter Crouch was the last Saint in an England shirt back in 2005, although he had already kicked his last ball for Saints when he played for England as he moved to Liverpool soon after.

I was thinking the other night when I was watching Scott Parker run about passing sideways that Jack Cork could probably do that job just as well... Maybe I'm mental, I just think his hair is similarly retro and undoubtedly England class!

All Jack Cork needs to do is put his face in the way of a shot every now and again and he'll be winning PFA Player of the Year and starting for England in no time.

Seem to remember Beattie starting for England whilst with us? It was a game at Old Trafford but I cannot recall the opposition.

Yeah he started against Liechtenstein I seem to remember and hit the crossbar with a shot. I think this was 2003-2004 time though

Or run around a lot, cover for Glen Johnson and stop and pass the ball backwards everytime he gets it and he'd be nailed on for the right midfield spot.

His first opposition that week was "sharing" his Chinese Food with some Fish Fiddlers who were slagging him off in a Chinese restaurant

He really was a bit of a helmet in his time here. I used to see him all the time in the Rhino back in the late 90's and early 00's. He always be in there giving it the large one and dressed is some expensive but horrendous clobber. Although he did buy be a bottle of Scmirnoff Ice once. Quite a few players used to be regulars in there at the time. Mark Draper, Wayne Bridge, Gary Monk used to be in there everytime i was it seemed!!! Centro was another place a lot of players used to go. Remember seeing Hassan Kachoul and Matt Oakley in there a fair bit.
