Crazy Diamond Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Goal line assistant earning his money there as well... Shocking officials.
SO16_Saint Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 What the hell are those tossers by the goal line for if not to see that???
Crab Lungs Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 what a save by hart If he hadn't touched that, Terry wouldn't have had the time to get back and clear from (behind) the line. Agree... We're Chelsea-ying teams
dune Posted 19 June, 2012 Author Posted 19 June, 2012 What the hell are those tossers by the goal line for if not to see that??? They need the line judges from wimbledon or a cricket umpire. They'd have seen it.
Thedelldays Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 what we need, is goal line officials...... and to a host nation to
Turkish Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Finally he's off after putting in his only half decent cross of the night.
Minsk Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Come on Theo, put on another super sub performance for us. I am too nervous at only 1-0 (even with that cert goal not given)
Crazy Diamond Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 So the goal that should have been is a goal that actually shouldn't have been because Milevskyi was offside. Both incidents went unnoticed by the officials. So they're twice as incompetent.
hypochondriac Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Great defending from lescott He has really surprised me this tournament. Standout performers so far have been Gerrard, Walcott and Lescott IMO.
Crazy Diamond Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 He has really surprised me this tournament. Standout performers so far have been Gerrard, Walcott and Lescott IMO. Not that big a fan of Lescott but he's done well, I agree.
Turkish Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 He has really surprised me this tournament. Standout performers so far have been Gerrard, Walcott and Lescott IMO. As much as I hate to say it John terry has been very good as well.
Thedelldays Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 I would take welbeck off now and bring on carroll...try and make the ball stick up top a bit more
hypochondriac Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 As much as I hate to say it John terry has been very good as well. Possibly but he looked very ponderous in the last game and was fortunate to get bailed out.
Turkish Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 I would take welbeck off now and bring on carroll...try and make the ball stick up top a bit more Roy must have been listening to you Jamie.
Saintandy666 Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 I would take welbeck off now and bring on carroll...try and make the ball stick up top a bit more You alright Roy?
Lighthouse Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 It still seems weird seeing AOC out there, having watched him score against Walsall in League 1 barely a year ago.
Lighthouse Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 If Ukraine were leading 1-0, would that Sweden goal have been the one to send us through instead of France? Would have been a heck of an end to the group. Job done though, even if it wasn't with much style. Italy are definitely beatable.
Saintandy666 Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Good performance. We can win this tournament. Can we beat Spain and Germany?
Crazy Diamond Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Good good, I rather fancy the game on Sunday. In other news, David Moyes has apparently left Everton.
Colinjb Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Winning the group, a pleasant surprise.......and.... In other news, David Moyes has apparently left Everton. Say what!?
Minsk Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Got to beat the Italians on Sunday. I go on holiday, to Ukraine, on Tuesday. So will be there for the semi's and final!!
dune Posted 19 June, 2012 Author Posted 19 June, 2012 Can we beat Spain and Germany? I'm not overly concerned about Spain, and we can only meet Germany in the final I think.
hypochondriac Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Adrian Chiles, Roy Keane, Gareth Southgate and Jamie Carragher. Is there a worse quartet of pundits currently plying their trade on TV?
hypochondriac Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 I'm not overly concerned about Spain, and we can only meet Germany in the final I think. Nope the semis. Spain would be the final.
Minsk Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 And good to see Roy looking so happy a the end. He He Joe Hart said he couldn't tell if it was a goal or not.
Thedelldays Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 tits...I have lost my UEFA customer number... I really want to go this weekend
SO16_Saint Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 tits...I have lost my UEFA customer number... I really want to go this weekend Fair weather fan
Crazy Diamond Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Say what!? FiveLive reporting it, and they have a habit of getting it right and only saying it if it's true. EDIT: Just as I say that, the person who relayed it to the world has just said "Will look into the Moyes claims. Don't think there's anything in it."
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 This was never going to be an easy game, and it wasn't what so ever. Ukraine were always going to go for it and attack us, and they do have a couple of very nifty wide players who will cause most teams a problem. We set ourselves up incredibly well though, tactically it looks obvious in terms of getting men behind the ball, marking the space etc - but you've got to know your position, and exactly where your team mates are and it seems we do. We're very well drilled, incredibly organized and a very tough nut to crack. Everyone has their job and the discipline has been installed into them. Even though Ukraine had a lot of the play, you never really felt that we were hanging on the fringes because we rarely let them in behind or allowed them to operate in real space to cause a problem. In the occasions they did break through we were saved by a dodgy decision - but if Hart didn't get a hand on that, it was going straight in and there wouldn't have been a debate - so a good touch from him. Oh and the player was offside. The game did open up much more in the 2nd half though, Gerrard got more space in the middle and in my opinion he's been our best player without a question. 3 or 4 assists already I think. He's always been a player that's had the label of not doing it at international tournaments, but he's turned up for this one, and you have to ask yourself why...........in my opinion it's because he's playing in his natural position alongside a player who compliments him perfectly. Lampard and Gerrard are too similar, and you can be too clever at getting one to sit, one to go, then to swap etc...what you need is a player who does the dirty work, and a midfielder who is dynamic and can switch the player. We have that and it's something we haven't had at international level for a long time. We're a tough watch if we're honest, but we get the job done. Special mentions to Lescott and Terry too, they've been immense. Onto Italy then who I think are very beatable, the ROI made them look very ordinary.
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 tits...I have lost my UEFA customer number... I really want to go this weekend plastic
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Gerrard our best player for me. Rooney was rubbish. Only because he was off the pace, and built up by the media to high heaven.
Crazy Diamond Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Good news: England v Italy will be on the BBC.
S-Clarke Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Good news: England v Italy will be on the BBC. Yep, good news. I think the Beeb always had 1st pick of the QF's.
Crazy Diamond Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 If we beat Italy, I'll finally get the disappointment of seeing England lose to Germany in a semi-final. Too young in 1990, didn't see 1996.
Saints Warrior Posted 19 June, 2012 Posted 19 June, 2012 Germany vs England semi-final, game on. Italy dont look that good, but England have the luck this time and Ukraine were poor in front of goal. France, Sweden and Ukrain all had loads of chances and just couldnt hit the target enough and I dont expect Italy to be any better
