Hard to make any assumptions yet as I think the top teams will spend big this summer in order to chase City but here is my take:

Top 3:

1st Man United

2nd Man City

3rd Chelsea

Bottom 3:

18th Norwich

19th Reading

20th QPR

Saints 14th

seeing as I am such a great fan of football...this will be the table come may 2013

Newcastle

Fulham

Sunderland

Villa

QPR

West Ham

Stoke

WBA

Saints

Norwich

Wigan

Swansea

Reading

1. Man Utd

2. SAINTS (it is OUR finishing position)

3. Man City

18. Wigan

19. Swansea

20. Reading

N.B. Given the highly probable situation that we won't finish in our usual 2nd spot this season, move Man City up one and insert Arsenal at 3rd. Also, if Martinez stays at Wigan for the entire season remove Wigan from 18th and insert West Brom (or possibly Norwich - I forgot they had lost their manager and that Holt has put in a transfer request).

I really cannot see why so many of you are saying QPR will go down

If our first two signings were AJ and Ryan Nelson I wouldn't be feeling too optimistic about our chances.

However, I think Hughes is a decent manager and will keep them up - but expect them to be closer to the bottom than the top - and I think we have a good chance of finishing above them.

Nelsen and AJ are two very good, if short term, signings IMO. A wise old head at the back (still only 34), and proven PL goal scorer up front. They won't win any titles with those two but its an excellent introduction of quality and experience in the spine of the team, and anh youngsters in team or coming in will learn a lot from them. I certainly wouldn't have minded signing either of them.

think wigan are a dead cert for relegation this year. other than that it's a toss up between 9 other teams to go down i reckon.

In 4 seasons at Fulham AJ has scored 13 goals from 65+(21) games.

Last season he managed 3 league goals in total - ironically, a hat-trick against QPR.

Not exactly inspiring IMO.

As for Nelson, yes he has lots of experience, but only managed 9 league matches last season.

He is also not the quickest and not the tallest for a CB.

I would certainly rather JRod over AJ and hope we sign (at least one) better CB than Nelson.

Andy Johnson also scored 8 goals from 12 games in the Europa League. A total of 11 goals from 26 starts (1 in the FA Cup) is a decent return. I also prefer JRod to AJ, but that's why we paid an extra £6M on the transfer fee.

And I sincerely hope we sign someone like Nelsen. I think we genuinely need an older head at the back; someone like Jaidi when he came in. Its great that we look to invest in youth but we've got a pretty young side, hardly any Premier League experience, and i think we need a wise head like that at least in the squad. I don't know why he played so little for Spurs, whether it was injury or manager's choice. But if he is fit then he'll be fairly fresh and if only for one year I think will add a great deal to the QPR squad.

We will walk this league.

Dont care about 2nd downwards.

But if we dont for some bizarre reason, citeh to win it (despite their 5-2 defeat in the first game,) followed by chelski and manure. Stoke, swans and naarwich to go down. Us in 12th.

Not sure about the others. Saints to, finish 17th.

Yes Dalek, that's a POSITIVE prediction this year!

Keep quiet blakey. For two seasons daleks been predicting 17th, and for two seasons we finished second. Humour the man. :)
