spyinthesky Posted 16 June, 2012 Share Posted 16 June, 2012 David James received an honour in the Civil List, following in the footsteps of that giant of footballing talent with a Pompey connection, Alan Knight Surely MLT for his one club loyalty, fantastic footballing ability, services to broadcasting and local charity work should be rewarded. He is also genuinely a nice guy. Perhaps that goes against him. Mick Channon is another worthy of recognition in view of his dual success on the football field and horse racing as well as his efforts in controlling his tourettes!! VectisSaint Posted 16 June, 2012 Share Posted 16 June, 2012 Mick Channon is more likely to be honoured when he retires from racing or perhaps after he hopefully wins a British Classic.

VectisSaint Posted 16 June, 2012 Share Posted 16 June, 2012 He can still run pretty fast then? No, think he would struggle to run at all these days, but his horses can and do so frequently unless I bet on them.

rooney Posted 16 June, 2012 Share Posted 16 June, 2012 David James played many times for England but Matt hardly at all. Furthermore, David James set up his charity foundation in Africa some years ago and puts a great deal of effort into this charity. I think that is why he had the award.
