Crazy Diamond Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 He's just signed for Notts County. http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10426~2812876,00.html Says he's not given up hopes of international recognition. Think he really ought to lower his expectations, unfortunately. Got me wondering though, was he really all that promising, or was he another mistake by Burley?

pingwing Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 This season was really hard for him, not sure what happened as the season before he was having a good set of cup runs. County should be really good for him though, they let go their last no1 keeper a few weeks ago so he should get the first team football he needs! Good luck to him
Crazy Diamond Posted 15 June, 2012 Author Posted 15 June, 2012 He'll probably be remembered for three things: 1 - The howlers against Blackpool last season 2 - The reserve game against West Ham, his first appearance of sorts in England 3 - Getting injured at Newcastle where Dexter Blackstock had to go in goal

Crazy Diamond Posted 15 June, 2012 Author Posted 15 June, 2012 I'll remember him for the penalty save in the 6-0 game at Molyneux and pulling off a couple of great pen saves in the shootouts in our JPT run. Completely forgot about that 6 - 0 win at Wolves, seems so long ago now.
Dr Who? Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Think it will be good for him to get some first team football. Glad he has got himself another club in the league, good luck to him.
Saint Charlie Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Good luck to the lad, still could be a very good keeper - hope he starts as their no 1 and then its up to him.
dronskisaint Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Wish him well for the future...didn't we turn down a bid from Ipswich after he'd been there on loan a couple of seasons back?
Saints foreva Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 He was fantastic in that 6-0 win against Wolves. Wolves had their chances but he was in fine form. Good luck to him.
St Marco Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Good luck to the guy. Hope he does well and think he will.
trousers Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 A good move for Bart. I've a hunch he'll do well somewhere like County where he'll have a chance to play first team football more regularly,
Mowgli Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 A good move for Bart. I've a hunch he'll do well somewhere like County where he'll have a chance to play first team football more regularly, He's better than div one standard but this will give him a platform back. It's all about confidence and self belief.
del boy Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Yeh but I bet they swooped for him - you cut just sign someone Very good luck to the boy - I hope he does well....and plays for Poland!
Dimond Geezer Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Good luck to him. I think Championship is his level, so hopefully he'll do well at County & eventually get to where I believe he could be. It's a shame it didn't work out for him at Saints.
saintalan Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 didnt look too happy to be there in that pic. Looks like he is sat on the loo!
jawillwill Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 That's a bit below his level in my opinion. He's plenty good enough to play in the Championship, despite his antics at the Blackpool game.
Saint J 77 Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 didnt look too happy to be there in that pic. Yeah it looks like he is thinking, what the hell have I just done!
Elmore Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 With a run of games as first choice 'keeper in a good side I think he will do very well. He is slightly injury prone though imo.
andymcrowe Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 I'll remember him for the penalty save in the 6-0 game at Molyneux and pulling off a couple of great pen saves in the shootouts in our JPT run. Absolutely - let's be more charitable about departing players, especially one who had to sit on the bench for game after game.
krissyboy31 Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Unfortunately not as good as he really should be given the his attributes. I think it's a mental thing that he seems to lose confidence in the biggest games. It's disappointing really because the guy has got some talent and maybe this move will kick start his career.
Saint J 77 Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 (edited) Absolutely - let's be more charitable about departing players, especially one who had to sit on the bench for game after game. Definitely, I had a lot of time for Bart, but I think this move will do him good. His performance in the penalty shootout against Norwich is the standout for me. Edited 15 June, 2012 by Saint J 77
Toomer Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Good luck to the lad lets hope the step backwards to get regular game time might help to bring him on.
scotty Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Could have been so different for him here if he hadn't busted his finger so early on (was it after 7 games?) He looked like the find of the season, think he saved a pen in his first or second game for us. Good luck to him, I really hope he does well.
sfc4prem Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 He's got obvious talent, I really felt sorry for him at times here because his confidence was so low, he just couldn't fulfill his potential. I hope he does well and gets a run of games because I think he can become a good Championship player.
skintsaint Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Never been convinced by him. Destined for a lower league career. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Saint-Armstrong Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Nice interview on their website with him. Says Kelvin is a top guy and a great keeper but he found it "hard to be happy" at Southampton. Said the people were great etc but at 25 now is the right time to play regularly.
Patrick Bateman Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 ********, not good enough, move on, simple as that.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 "Southampton will always have a place in my heart." When asked about showing Adkins "this is why you should've picked me, Bart said "No, this is football. Kelvin is a great keeper." No sour grapes then.
Bailey Posted 15 June, 2012 Posted 15 June, 2012 Confidence is key to every player, especially goalkeepers. Bialkowski had a terrible time against Blackpool, but what do you expect when you've barely played any competitive football in three years? During the early days of his stint at Saints, he showed what he is capable of. If he gets regular first-team football then I'm sure he'll re-build his career and get some consistency. I wish him all the best, and I hope he's a hit at Notts County. Providing he starts well, he should do just fine for them.
S4INT Posted 16 June, 2012 Posted 16 June, 2012 I've always liked Bart. He must have been one of the players who's been in the squad longest prior to his departure?? I wish him all the best and that he can establish himself as a first team keeper. Some of the saves he has made show him to be a very able keeper (e.g. vs. Wolves) but his confidence/luck has not been there - I hope it can now!

dannysfc Posted 16 June, 2012 Posted 16 June, 2012 I would also like to wish Good Luck and All The Best for the Future at Notts County and wherever else he ends up playing tbh!!!
corsacar saint Posted 16 June, 2012 Posted 16 June, 2012 Good luck Bart,it is a real shame, that the terrible injury at Newcastle in 2006,seemed to badly affect your confidence, just when it seemed that you might develop into a very promising goalkeeper with Saints.
sidthesquid Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 Right move, right time for him. What he needs more than anything is to be first choice somewhere and play 40+ games in a season. I still think he has the capacity to be a good keeper, but he has spent too much of his career sat on the bench. And Good luck to him.
Under Weststand Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 Good luck to the guy, he showed he can be a good keeper when he first came. The injury set him back & he's never been able to get a run in the first team. I think he will prove he has the ability as he gets a run of games. Probably the right club at the right time for Bart.
Ziggy Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 Good luck Bart! Always liked him and he always spent time signing autographs for the kids before the games. I hope he gets back into form and gets back up the leagues. Still have nightmares about the Blackpool game though!
