Itchen North

It hasn't been in recent times when opened since we've been in the lower leagues.

That's because it's only been opened for big games when it's been appropriate to stand, i.e Pompey games.

It is a sitting area. It's not the Northam.

I had my ST in Block 2 until it was closed and it's the best part of the ground by far. There were a real good bunch of lads there when I was and there was always a good assortment of classic Saints songs too. The atmosphere is great as you're staring the away fans in the eyes which always makes for some good singing banter. It was generally a 'sitting area' before unless it was a big game like Pompey or things were getting particulary heated with the away fans!

It consistently stood for Championship games before the area was closed actually. I remember standing in Block 3 for a game against Bristol City (Won 2-0 I think) very well.

Well all i'm saying is that if it goes back to how it was and a few kids start getting ideas above their stations they won't reign for very long before they are put in their place. If you want to stand all match you really should stick to the Northam.

I haven't had a season ticket there before (had one in block 4 and family sect) but I have bought one in block 2 now and looking forward it. Whenever i have been in block 2 there has always been a good atmosphere sitting or standing.

If you go to the back 10 rows or so I'm sure everyone will be stood up. To be fair you need to be quite near the back as otherwise the sun in your eyes can be quite annoying.

I'd like to move over there but my mates want to stay in block 36 and have already renewed. I told them I will spend most games moaning at them that the atmosphere on the other side is better which will hopefully annoy them enough into moving the season after.

Looking to get a season ticket back in the Itchen North this season. Who's moving back there? If hardly anyone is then the Itchen North will be sh*t and I'll be annoyed if I have to sit down all season.

im moving there you lucky, lucky boy. You'll get to see me every week. :D

I wonder if the 'no standing rule' will be enforced more heavily in the Prem, it's been very relaxed in the years outside the Prem

no it hasn't. The Itchen corner was closed and what remained of it stood at the back of block 4 was harrassed every single game. The Northam also gets the stewards moaning the whole game up and down the rows.

Teams tend to stand more in the prem, the away end will be full and standing for the visits of Arsenal, Spurs, United, City, Liverpool, West Ham, Newcastle.

always harder for them to get people to sit when the whole away end next to them is stood.

Can honestly say there was only about 1 match after Xmas when the stewards got as far back as row S in the Northam 41, it was pretty much all standing all the time.

Have been standing near the back of block 4 and have got weekly grief for standing (one lad got banned for headbutting a steward). Its been particularly resented given the northam has done what it liked).

At least, the stewards backed down when blocks 1-3 were opened for west ham etc. Thinking of moving a few seats to the right to block 3 to save a few quid, especially if others move but made some good mates in block 4 upper during the bleak years and it's become the de facto heart and soul of itchen north. Sun ain't that much of a factor.

Turkish :- im moving there you lucky, lucky boy. You'll get to see me every week.

Griffo :- Fantastic news. Which block? I'm thinking back of block 3 for myself.

Turkish:- the very same. Your life has just got so much better.

Only until Turkish starts moaning about what Griffo is wearing.

I am happy that you think so highly of me and I would be overjoyed to continue my learning curve from you and have you take me under your wing.
