The Kraken Posted 14 June, 2012 Share Posted 14 June, 2012 I'd say it is hard to determine due to the caveat I put in the second sentence of post #93. So you won't answer? Not even an estimate? And you dispute that you never answer questions put to you

Matthew Le God Posted 14 June, 2012 Share Posted 14 June, 2012 So you won't answer? Not even an estimate? You are right, I won't answer a question when I don't have the information I would require to answer it. I don't think that is an unreasonable stance to take. Did you watch the Stewart Lee video. Are you a taxi driver? And you dispute that you never answer questions put to you Again, you are twisting things. I disputed the claim that I avoid all questions. All I have done here is avoid answering a particular question I don't think can be answered. There is a significant difference between the two. All I have done here is avoid answering a particular question I don't think can be answered. There is a significant difference between the two. So you cannot give any information back to my questions, as put to you. Ignore any previous questions, just these: On what factors would you consider us to be a bigger club than Everton or Leeds. By your own benchmarks, if you like. On what factors would you consider us to be smaller than Everton or Leeds. Again, by your own benchmarks. Now, it's pretty simple really. On that basis alone, can you provide any answers?? Or even a personal opinion?? It doesn't have to be factually correct. Just your opinion. That really is all I'm asking for. whelk Posted 15 June, 2012 Share Posted 15 June, 2012 oh well this thread did have a bit about finance at the start but shame I wont get the time back that spent reading last 2 pages of squabbling. I guess there must be history but from a neutral observer all looks a tad childish and peopel need to grow up. Although far too little of the Lawro slagging. He plunged new depths in Holland V Germany game with sneering miserable ramblings. Actually made me want to look up how to complain to BBC for first time in my life. anyone got a link? Turkish Posted 15 June, 2012 Share Posted 15 June, 2012 (edited) Unless you define what factors constitute "bigger", it is impossible to answer. Even if you do define it, it will still only be your concept of "bigger" and it may still be impossible to answer as we may not be aware of some significant information. SO which club would you say was "bigger" Manchester United or Darlington? And lets makes it easy for you an make the answers multiple choice a/ Manchester United b/ Darlington C/ Impossible to tell unless people define what contitutes "bigger" and even if they do you might not be aware of some significant information. The Kraken Posted 15 June, 2012 Share Posted 15 June, 2012 I wonder if you will receive an answer, Turkey? I hope so, but the poor lad can't even use benchmarks of his own choosing to provide even one example to my suggestion of areas where Saints are bigger/smaller than Everton/Aston Villa. I genuinely think he is utterly terrified of providing a definitive answer to questions that cannot be proven by empirical evidence. And that must be a terrifying world to live in. I would hope so, The Krackers. As it would be interesting to see what criteria he applies to esablish which is the bigger club out of Manchester United and Darlington and if that same yardstick could be applied to comapring the sizes of other clubs. Or if indeed it is impossible to say without a clear definition of what constitues "bigger" or if there is any information that we are missing that the rest of the world knows about which would make an impossible task to say who is the bigger club out of Manchester United and Darlington. buctootim Posted 15 June, 2012 Share Posted 15 June, 2012 Yes he does. MLG thinks we are a bigger club than both Everton and Leeds. Well he's half right then. Leeds may have been a bigger club in the past and maybe so again in the future but last season Saints had bigger attendances, bigger budgets and were placed higher. Next season that difference will be even more marked. So yes Saints are a bigger club than Leeds on all current measures.

The Kraken Posted 16 June, 2012 Share Posted 16 June, 2012 There is and never has been a worse pundit or human than Lawro. I'd rather listen and indeed watch Gary Neville orgasm for an entire season than one game featuring Lawro. There is, and the BBC also employ him. Step forward Alan Hansen. The most tired and pointless pundit there is on TV, he offers absolutely nothing to any post-game analysis.
The Kraken Posted 16 June, 2012 Share Posted 16 June, 2012 With the charismatic liverpool duo draining the soul after each game, you have to wonder just what else the BBC could try to be worse than ITV. It just doesn't seem possible. Even if they started employing Joey Barton and Liam Lawrence. It's such a shame; the BBC used to be good. Now they are are far worse than even ITV, who are shockingly sh*t. Alan Hansen. Mark Lawrenson. Jacqui Oatley. Tony Gubba. Alan Shearer. Colin Murray. John Motson. The shocking promotion of Motson above the best commentator the BBC has ever had, Barry Davies. Jonathan Pearce. Just terrible, terrible, overpaid broadcasting. The Kraken Posted 16 June, 2012 Share Posted 16 June, 2012 Completely agree. What befuddles me is that every football fan seems to think much the same. So, what sort of market research do they do at the BBC? They clearly don't do market research; if they do, they don't take any notice of it. They get a nice juicy wedge of license fee every year to continue paying all of the empty shirts that they employ. They have become, quite frankly, a disgrace of a sporting network with absolutely no innovation compared to the masses of (public) funding they receive. BBC Sport in general on TV has undergone such a dumbing down of quality in the past 10-20 years that its frighteningly embarrassing. Football we've already discussed. Golf used to be flawless, now we have Linkeker and Michael sodding Vaughan making an arse of himself asking Tiger Woods factually wrongly-based questions. An assortment of other sports have declined at the lazy and effete hands of the corporation.
Turkish Posted 17 June, 2012 Share Posted 17 June, 2012 I still think ITV are worse. Andy "Rooney, i think he's class" Townsend is embarassingly bad and don't even get me started on Adrian Chiles. He sole qualification for that job seems to be he claims he is a fan of West Brom. He tries to be funny and he really isn't. He reminds me of one of those fat, middle aged pub fans that talk absolutle bollo*ks. "So Spain. Is it fair to say they are contenders?" the most pointless question of Euro 2012 so far. torsaint Posted 17 June, 2012 Share Posted 17 June, 2012 Just had chance to see England game. Lawrensen went on about how useless Walcott was the moment he came then said how brilliant he was 5 minutes later. The man is as big a joke as Hansen and don't get me started on Shearer. aintforever Posted 17 June, 2012 Share Posted 17 June, 2012 Lawrensen is just a miserable ***t, I really don't get how he stays in his job. I don't mind Hansen and Shearer, though being scottish should rule Hansen out of being a pundit for a England game.
K,Billy's supersound Posted 17 June, 2012 Share Posted 17 June, 2012 Just do what i do for BBC coverage you can just go to the red button select commentary options for the game and select to have none atall. Nice to not have to listen to the constant dribble of boring fact's and crap commentary. For ITV though i'm afraid u just have to mute the tv or put up with it.
