buctootim Posted 13 June, 2012 Share Posted 13 June, 2012 Hope it's not true. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/18435771 He was awesome, retired at the right time with reputation intact but should never have attempted a comeback. Resorted to drugs to keep an aging body on the pace imo.

If a man is that stupid then I'd be surprised if he could write his own name. He had a pretty good comeback first time out but his performance dwindled in the 2nd of those years. Can't say any reason why he'd be taking drugs when he was achieving nothing but improving upon his Livestrong brand. Everyone of course hopes that he is genuine and until any proper, qualified evidence comes through he is clearly innocent, and this for me is just more dirt being unfairly thrown at him. His comeback was crucial for Australian cycling making a huge difference to the numbers watching and the interest in the sport during the Tour Down Under (especially becasue Tour Down Under was teh first and last UCI World tour during his comeback). I'm sure his comeback also made a difference worldwide to the popularity of the sport not to mention the funds and awareness he raised for cancer and charity. I'm with you in that I believe it is just muck trowing, by the authorities who were just p155ed that they couldn't prove the original claims they tried to pin on him. Amazing guy! badgerx16 Posted 14 June, 2012 Share Posted 14 June, 2012 How many more times will the most tested athlete in the world have to go through this ? Mind you, if there really is the slightest bit of truth in this, it throws the whole anti-doping regime out of the window - over 500 tests, all clean. Special K Posted 14 June, 2012 Share Posted 14 June, 2012 http://www.bicycling.com/news/pro-cycling/lance-armstrongs-endgame Interesting article, this controversy will follow him for some time to come I guess. Hope the latest allegations are not true as it would re-open the book on all the previous.
