St Matty Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 What time are they out? I cannot find any website with info on this. Useless internet Ok just seen on SFC site it is 09:00
suewhistle Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 Well, if anything this thread has made me appreciate that getting tickets might be a leetle more difficult than last year.. Last August on my hols I wandered up North to see friends, and Saints at Barnsley, and bought a ticket on the day. Different approach this year, perhaps down the pub!
dune Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 When are the first tranche of sky televised games released?
View From The Top Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 When are the first tranche of sky televised games released? About two weeks later. Need to then factor in Europa League games once that draw is made.
Viking Warrior Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 I would like awat game to wigan or norwich to start with that way our last game for this season will be at home
Bad Wolf Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 I'd quite like West Ham or Reading. To test ourselves against how far they've come. I'm gonna go for Everton at home or Swansea away. That's my gut feeling. What time to they come out tomorrow? 10?
Bad Wolf Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 I would like awat game to wigan or norwich to start with that way our last game for this season will be at home Doesn't always work like that. We were at home to Palace in 07-08 and finished the season at home to Sheff Utd. We also started our first season outside the top flight for 27 years at home to Wolves and finished at home to Leicester.
Matthew Le God Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 A Saints youth team player has just Tweeted this... Omar Rowe @Omar_rowe Saints vs Arsenal 3rd game of the season at St Marys. #SaintsFC
Thedelldays Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 so, away to west ham to start with then usually two home games to follow..one of which is arsenal
saint_jas Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 As long as the August Bank holiday aint away to Norwich, Newcastle or Wigan will be happy.
itchen_dan Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 (edited) A Saints youth team player has just Tweeted this... Omar Rowe @Omar_rowe Saints vs Arsenal 3rd game of the season at St Marys. #SaintsFC It's not just him who has put it either! Someone else said Arsenal have Sunderland at home first, then Fulham at home and then us away. Liverpool fans hearing a lot about Saints v Liverpool opening day at St Marys! Would be a brilliant way to start life back in the PL, especially at home! According to the rumours, the potential fixture list could look like: Liverpool (H) ? (A) Arsenal (H) Edited 17 June, 2012 by itchen_dan
Sour Mash Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 My money is on all these ITK rumours being b/llocks. Happens every year.
The9 Posted 17 June, 2012 Posted 17 June, 2012 Happens every year. One year they were actually right though.
fish fingers Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 @JFBLucas: The eagle has landed. Jim Smith at home then.
dune Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 I wonder how many people will post exactly the same thing at 9.0...

Sour Mash Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 One year they were actually right though. Not this year. Very tough start. Bottom by mid September!?!
Shroppie Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 (edited) Man City away and then ManU and Arsenal in the next 3. At least we'll get them out of the way while we're fresh and unknown. Edited 18 June, 2012 by Shroppie
Sour Mash Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 horrific start not a bad april/may Can see us struggling with that start, then come good at the end with a pretty reasonable run in.
Under Weststand Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 Bring it on the Champions away 1st game. Couldn't have been a more difficult start.
saint si Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 After first 4 games it's not a bad little run of games right up to December.
Saint Charlie Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 Realistically thats a tough a first 6 games as you could probably be given. Run in seems better but just looking at the fixtures makes you realise how tough it really is. Need to beat some of the top teams every so often.
Thedelldays Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 Can see us struggling with that start, then come good at the end with a pretty reasonable run in. wigan at home is a must win in the 2nd game
Thedelldays Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 That's us on TV for the first game then....? good point
saint si Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 And and by the way it's Pompey vs Bompey in League One
Shroppie Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 And and by the way it's Pompey vs Bompey in League One A bye for Bompey then. Or vs Wycombe instead.
S-Clarke Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 That is an horrific start, but how nice is to to see us against those teams again? TBH Promoted teams could do with picking up points early....we haven't got much chance of that. We could be rooted to the bottom after the few few weeks going by that opening set!
The9 Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 Actually a one in thirty six, we won't be playing Reading in the opening match as we'll be twinned with their fixtures and you can't play "derby" matches in the first or last matches of the season (or on bank holidays). There's no guarantees regarding home or away games either, we weren't in this division last season so it's unlikely it'll be taken into consideration and teams often have 2 homes or 2 aways in a row even when it is. Well would you look at that, we're scheduled to play Reading on the same dates as the Manchester derbies.
Thedelldays Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 we have the best run in compared to all the other so called bottom 8 teams....(at a glance) but the worst start swansea have the worst run in......
Thedelldays Posted 18 June, 2012 Posted 18 June, 2012 we have the best run in compared to all the other so called bottom 8 teams....(at a glance) but the worst start swansea have the worst run in...... norwich have man city away last game of the season..........you know, when it goes to the last day and all that
