TO Peculiarities when it comes to relocating ST seats.

I wondered if anybody else was aware that the ticket office are holding back the seats purchased in the 'Final Ten' bundle last season until the middle of July so as to reserve them for those people if they want to buy season tickets?

 

Last year's season ticket holders are currently able to renew their own seat or move to another seat, but they cannot move to a seat that was held by a season ticket holder last year, or to a seat that was purchased as part of the 'Final Ten' bundle.

 

Seats purchased as season ticket seats last year will all be released on the 2nd July if they haven't been renewed, but seats that were purchased under the 'Final Ten' bundle are being held until the "middle of July" (I haven't had a confirmed date from the Ticket Office yet), in order to give those people the first two weeks of July to buy them as season ticket seats if they want to.

 

Why is this at all important?

 

Primarily because season ticket holders from last year like myself are now being told we can't get at certain seats until the middle of July, by which time we will have lost our original seat and lost a renewal discount. There's also the odd fact that all the promotional literature for the Final Ten bundle said that purchasers of the bundle didn't get any privileges other than those listed in the document, but now it turns out the club are actually holding the seats for them.

 

Just thought I'd post this because it might be of interest to people who are trying to move seats but are struggling to find something in the area they want. It's because the club areholding back more seats than we may have first thought!

Typical Cortese era PR nightmare - don't tell the "Final Ten" holders they have priority so miss out on the good publicity (and possible additional sales) from that, but manage to annoy existing ST holders and potentially charge them more for the privilege.

 

FWIW, shouldn't you just renew in your current seat after June 20th then apply to move as soon as you can ?

 

Contrasts so poorly with Reading's runaway Championship campaign when they told everyone in December that if they bought a half ST they'd definitely get one for the following season (likely to be in the Prem). As a result they shifted loads of half STs in the Championship and sold out of STs for the first Prem season in a matter of days as well. Horrible plastic club, but that's how to sell a load of tickets.

This was discussed but the Ticket Office have said they're not sure yet if they will charge for the privilege of moving and that if you want to move your seat you will have to go in person to the stadium and queue up to do it. A significant inconvenience for people with certain work commitments and all the more ridiculous when you have no idea of what seat is available. In other words, the Ticket Office have suggested you ring up in the morning to get told a certain seat is available, then asked to come down in person to do the change, but they haven't said they will hold the seat for you whilst you make the journey down there. By the time you get down there, they may have sold the bloody thing anyway.

That seems perfectly in line with last season's "make it as awkward as possible" policy - though I seem to recall they've settled on sending tickets out this year haven't they, so at least not EVERYONE has to go down there ?

 

Makes me laugh the number of times we instigate a rubbish policy for one season then backtrack on it and do what everyone else does. So far that's been the case for not having instalment plans, not sending out STs in the post, having a ridiculously short purchase period for tickets, pre-sale for kits people haven't seen yet... etc.

 

I await the removal of the ticket taxes and car parking fees with bated breath, they're already well overdue.

Yep, that was the phone people. They excused the fact that they're not sure about the Club's policies as they aren't actually the Club. They are just a call centre who say they work "on behalf of the Club". I'm waiting on written confirmation from the actual Club about what the policies are.

Probably more likely to be the phone monkey's knowledge than the club policy though.

 

 

Nail on head. Whether it's because the phone monkeys can't remember what the club told them, or because the club never told them in the first place, your guess is as good as mine.

I wonder how many Final 10 packages we sold anyway? Given that there wasn't a lot of value in buying one, I'd be surprised if it was more than a couple of hundred. There must still be about half the stadium available to move into.

8 of us moved seats no problem....why does everyone want to make mountains out of molehills.

I went down found out what was available at that time - days later we phoned up and moved.

The TO couldn't of been more helpful at SMS.

 

 

Good for you, but you've missed the point. You didn't have a problem because the seats you wanted were available. I want to move my seat so it is as close as possible to another group of seats. There are seats they could sell me but they won't because they want to hold them back for people who purchased the 'Final Ten' bundle last season. I don't think that's a "mountain out of a molehill" at all.

Do you not think it's justifiable criticism ? At best the club's missed out on the chance to sell more tickets by marketing the "Final Ten" as a way to get an ST renewal.

 

One of the things I've asked them is whether they've even told the 'Final Ten' people that they're holding the seats for them. Seeing as it wasn't on the promotional literature, I wonder if the Club are actually holding seats for people who don't even know the seats are being held!

Out of interest, is there anyone on here who purchased the Final Ten bundle? If so, were you told that your seat would be reserved for you until mid-July if youwanted to purchase it as a season ticket, and when / how were you informed of this?

I bought one of these for my wife in the row below me in the kingsland and no one ever said it had any priviledges at all.In fact as she now wants a full season ticket and there was a empty seat next to the one she had i will need to change my seat to this one all though it seems i have to renew first and then change at a later date?

Why do people with season tickets moan so Fookin much and why do they think that the club owes them something just because they've got a season ticket.....get over yourselves FFS.

Wake up and realise that you are just a customer like the rest of us,just because you decide to part with your money in one go doesn't entitle you to anything extra apart from you are able to goto every league home game.....that's it,stop moaning,if you're not happy with the product you are buying,don't buy it.

Well why dont you all move then?? There is not a bad view in the ground there are loads of seats available what is so special about those?

Sounds like they've been pretty useless if you haven't been told that you've got a ticket being held for you!

 

You can relocate seats now (as of last Friday), but you can only relocate to seats that weren't season ticket or Final Ten seats last season (apparently).

I moved from the family section to block 2 in the Itchen. Daughter not interested anymore and I can't wait to back in that little corner on a regular basis. No problems with the Ticket Office at all - get yourself in the Itchen corner mate.

I love the people who come on these threads and call everybody moaners for raising what they think is an issue, rolling out the old line about "you're just a customer".

 

Yes, we are customers, and there's something called "customer service". Good customer service involves trying your best to help your customers and make their lives easier. Bad customer service involves making things difficult fr people.

 

It's not moaning to point out when Saints only manage the latter.

If you want perculiararities then what about getting charged £2.50 booking fee for a FREE under 11's child ticket. When I asked how to avoid it I was told to pay cash at the booking office but cant do that until late June by which time the seats I want will be gone. Had a ticket for the last 30 years and kept it all the way through the championship and league 1 years but feel like I'm being ripped off

I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem I have had? Am looking to move (retire!) from Northam block 42 to Kingsland block 35. Phoned Ticket Office at earliest oppotunity 12 last Friday as I was after a particular area of block 35, like the OP I think this is ok!

 

Anyway my problem on renewal was a different one. Last season I moved seats for quite a few games when going with other family members, friends etc. This has meant I have 14 seats associated with my customer number and the T/O have been unable to process my renewal.

 

The T/O are trying to resolve the problem, still after a week, but there must be quite a few impacted by this?

 

Not moaning just letting you all know. T/O tell me the seats I want are held for me. They have been polite / helpful but I have had to phone for updates rather than them keeping me informed.

 

Dull post but for your info.

It's not unreasonable for somebody to want to sit with their mates in a particular part of the ground. It's also not unreasonable to expect the club to at least try to help.

 

Keep on trolling though mate.

im not...but it is not unreasonable for the club to market particular seats every which way possible
