CB Fry Posted 13 June, 2012 Share Posted 13 June, 2012 Err, just realised this might actually make him more likely to be England manager in the next 12 months. If we bomb out over the next week, and then start badly in the qualifying the press campaign will be immense. Pretty unlikely, mainly because our Roy is going to do a pretty good job IMO. But this will put a bit of a pressure on him.

Relied too heavily on a small squad and as a result blew a 12 point advantage over Arsenal, didn't seem too upset about it either, reminiscent of his days at Saints. Very reminiscent of his other exits. The going gets tough, the money dries up, he has to start selling big players before he can buy - he then legs it. The new manager comes in and then has to control the finances which are usually left in a right mess by his ''wheeling and dealing''. Not sure where Spurs go from here as Modric is also off for sure. Would expect Moyes to end up there, the managerial merry go round continues...we're going to be the only club in the PL with the same manager at this rate. MOSaint Posted 13 June, 2012 Share Posted 13 June, 2012 If Moyes goes to Spurs, I wouldn't want to be the guy who replaces him at Everton. Moyes did an exceptional job and with the restraints he was faced with, few managers would be able to do what he did. If they appoint the wrong man, they could be in for a rough time next season. CB Fry Posted 13 June, 2012 Share Posted 13 June, 2012 You think big Liverpool fan Nigel Adkins would leave what he has at Saints to goto Everton? He might do. Everton is a far bigger club than Saints. Being a fan of a club in childhood very rarely influences career decisions. If the offer comes, He might want to go, he might not. But him being a Liverpool fan will not be the reason.

Professor Posted 14 June, 2012 Share Posted 14 June, 2012 When will the press finally realise that most of the population can't stand him? Spot On. Because he has the image of a typical Sun reader the press seem to think the public like him, whereas many people regard him more like an East End criminal living on ill-gotten gains in his obscenely expensive house at Sandbanks . Being aquitted of the tax fiddle charges didn't do as much for his reputation as he might have thought and whatever reasons the FA gave, the whiff of something unpleasant must have influenced them not to see him as an England manager. You can be sure that the out-of-touch media bosses will give him a pundit job but I, for one, will not watch a programme that has "loveable old 'arry" on it . CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 14 June, 2012 Share Posted 14 June, 2012 We have very good reason here not to like him here of course, and the fans of any club he is at can rest assured that Harry Redknapp will always put the interests of Harry Redknapp above any other consideration. But those on here who think he's a crap manager are mugging themselves off. labibs Posted 14 June, 2012 Share Posted 14 June, 2012 Car windows at half mast in Tottenham today... Not that surprised to be honest, his style is very short term, with large contracts given to older, injury prone players. This is acceptable when you achieve something, but crazy with no success. I imagine Levy would like Spurs to start bringing young players through, whereas 'Arry prob pushed for a 3 year contract, wage increase, higher transfer budget, free reign to sign who he wanted etc. Couple this with him flirting with another job for ages (England), court case and health problems and it seems like it might have just been a risk too far. Be interested to see if he takes another job here, shoots off to China or the Middle East for a payday, or ends up down the predictable punditry route... I am sad we won't get to see him down here with Spurs next year, that would have been a very tasty fixture!
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 14 June, 2012 Share Posted 14 June, 2012 Spurs fans phoning in talksport slating arry. Reading out his crime sheet as such A few months ago he said that the players don't care who is manager, they come in, train and take their money. Now, the players won't play as well as they won't know if he will be manager next season Also, fans making points that arry cannot spot a player, he buys 30+ year olds who anyone can spot Tried to get rid of bale, did not even put Sandro in the initial champions leave squad. Fans now talking about the utter rubbish and constant contradictions he comes out with. Add Spud fans to the list of fans of other clubs he has managed - the guy hasn't a clue which is why the FA didn't go with him. I am gutted he has gone though, I couldn't wait to welcome him back to the south coast.
