Thedelldays Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 more like downing you mean. going to arsenal was a massive mistake by him
SuperSAINT Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 Last I heard it was Milner and Downing out wide. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12016/7806560/Oxlade-Chamberlain-to-start
The Cat Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 going to arsenal was a massive mistake by him Yes it was, because by now he would have a Championship winners medal and a starting place in the Euros.
Colinjb Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 Yes it was, because by now he would have a Championship winners medal and a starting place in the Euros. I have mixed emotions about this. From Alex's perspective he will probably feel he's done the right thing. Premier League football a year ahead of our schedule and now a full international playing in a major tournament. He obviously had no real affinity for Saints, we were a stepping stone for his development. Thankfully, things seem to have worked out extremely well for all parties concerned.
Mr_Red Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 I would have thought Young on the left, Ox on the right and Welbeck and Theo up front would be best. Not a lot of experience I guess. Still wonder what happened to Adam Johnson this last season, looks to be a quality player whenever I've seen him.
Saint_clark Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 Interesting. I thought this was really going to be Walcotts big chance.
S-Clarke Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 Interesting. I thought this was really going to be Walcotts big chance. I still think Chambo is the better player.
Saint_clark Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 I still think Chambo is the better player. I agree, but there's no reason we can't utilise them both. Walcott would have been such a better player if he'd been kept up front rather than moved out wide, his hit and miss crossing wouldn't even be an issue then.
MOSaint Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 I'd have had Theo in the team instead of Milner today. France may have a good front three but the Midfield/Defence they have out there today isn't anything special. Should be trying to pin them back, force Ribery and Nasri to drop back into Midfield and isolate Benzema up front IMO. But I get the feeling this is going to be 90 minutes of dropping off and hoping Ashley Young can do something on the break.
Bucks Saint Posted 11 June, 2012 Posted 11 June, 2012 Walcott, much as I like him, has not developed properly at Arsenal. They have failed to get the best out of him. Ox replaces him for England now, next season he will do the same at Arsenal
