Argos Compensation if a shop fails to deliver the goods ordered

Can anyone offer advice

 

We ordered and payed in full for a sofa from Argos 3 months ago for our holiday chalet on the Isle of Wight. Argos gave us a delivery date which was last Tuesday. I booked the ferry and a couple days off work. Argos called me the night before the delivery to say they did not our sofa in stock and could not deliver. They will refund the cost of the sofa but i am well out of pocket. 2 days holiday allowance wasted for me and the wife, £80 ferry cost, and we could have rented the chalet out for a week. What are my rights as i am well out of pocket. Would not mind if they called a week earlier but to tell me the night before left me with no time to do anything.
