So Puncheon says. I would be surprised if Cortese and Adkins would be differing there approach from a player whos attitude has never seemed quite spot on. Mind, if he wants to get by by deluding himself that the chairman wants him but the nasty manager is against him then good luck to him.

Besides being seriously messed up and relentlessly thick, he's not that good. Few glimpses in a very attacking Blackpool side, but I'm not convinced. And how did he manage to look so poor in a 5 minute cameo 4-0 up at home to Coventry?

Maybe he will want to sit out his contract on good wages. Doubt he'll get anywhere near the saints team again though.

I did wonder why he even got on the bench against Coventry seeing as he had not figured in any of the previous weeks since Leeds away. I thought Barnard or Connolly should have been on the bench, I'm guessing they were injuried.

May be old news, but just spoke to Jason who hopes to stay for the last year of his contract. Cortese want's him to stay but the manager wanted him out from day one.

If thats the case why did he go on twitter slatting Cortese rather than Adkins?

Two of the not very endearing traits of the undeveloped emotional mind is the sympathy claim (poor little me, you must help me!) and blame (it's the chairman's fault, well maybe not, it's the manager's fault...). If JP is going to move on as a person and therefore as a footballer he needs to be able to look himself in the mirror and see something else but somebody badly misunderstood.

I always wondered why he didn't have a better background in football, but I think I can see what is happening. With such a deep lack of self-esteem he won't be much of a team player. I'd be surprised if we don't move him on if we can.

Puncheon slated Cortese before the clear the air talks.

More like he's made up with Cortese, so he is allowed to sleep with both eyes shut now and start his car without checking underneath, however, NA is less forgiving and wants shot of a disruptive influence in the squad.

Either that or the 'manager wanted him out from day one' stuff is all down to Puncheon not getting over being dropped for Chamberlain when Adkins first came in. A decision by Adkins that proved totally correct.

From how I understood it, it all kicked off when Puncheon made a comment undermining the manager, in a hissy fit after Pardew left because Pardew wanted Puncheon but he was further down the pecking order under Nigel. It was rumoured he made a comment along the lines of "what do you know, you're just a physio" to which Cortese got wind and told Adkins to not take any stick whatsoever from players and rightly supported the manager and Jason was flung in with the reserves. Since then, they made up and we had a need for JP but Puncheon is an idiot with questionable attitude problems but what's new in football. It says a lot about our nation when the national football team can only get motivated by money playing for their individual clubs (Rooney, etc.) and perpetually throw away every major tournament internationally. It's all about the mentality, not just the skill.

good PR --if we were considering selling him on.

Easy to say he played in the last game of the season, the one where we secured promotion.

A statement like that would put an extra few grand on the asking price.

That is tosh - if I may say so.

He was utter garbage when he came on against Cov in the last game: slow, disinterested and then celebrated like a lunatic when we went up...newsflash Jason - you played little to no part in our success. Can't bring myself to like the bloke after everything that's supposedly gone on. If the price is right get rid. Wasn't good enough to hold down a place in the Champ once back even though we didn't have a stand out right mid, won't be good enough for the Prem. Let's cut our losses.

Joey Barton is a QPR player. Should every QPR fan get behind him FFS???

Laughable. Every player in a shirt who puts in a shift gets my support 100%.

A feckwit who openly criticises the club and clearly has some sort of temperament issues doesn't - sorry if that offends the sensibilities of some bonkers posters who clearly back every member of their staff even if they were caught bad mouthing the organisation while pilfering tenners from the till...

of course you may.

I'm not anti Puncheon, but it seems that he doesn't have the same mindset as many other in the squad and now that we are talking "Premier League "... I think his chances may be extremely limited.

We have better options in the present squad (without competition from new signings) and I don't see him earning a place on the bench, let alone getting regularly selected... so he's back to square one.

The fact that he got a few outings after his "prodigal return ", does make him more "marketable " in the event of an eventual transfer.
