Legod Third Coming Posted 7 June, 2012 Share Posted 7 June, 2012 I wanted to upload a copy of my betting slip but I'm not sharp enough on the old IT skills... Suffice to say £25 e/w Saints to win the league at 2500/1 with William Hill. Pays out £83,383.33 Hello 911 Convertible!

Legod Third Coming Posted 7 June, 2012 Author Share Posted 7 June, 2012 2nd the last two years, why not again?! I'd be disappointed to miss out on top spot, but could settle for a second hand 911 I suppose...

Jack Posted 7 June, 2012 Share Posted 7 June, 2012 A better bet would've been Forecast making a first team appearance for Saints - similar odds I'd imagine
goneawol Posted 7 June, 2012 Share Posted 7 June, 2012 You've got them worried, they have shortened Saints to 1500-1 (although Bluesq are 7500-1).
This Charming Man Posted 7 June, 2012 Share Posted 7 June, 2012 I'll better that. Give me £50 and if we win finish in the Top 4, I'll pay out £100,000.
DT Posted 7 June, 2012 Share Posted 7 June, 2012 Second favourites to go down though, behind Reading (Blue Square punters must have seen how we have done nothing about the defence yet). Porsche might have to wait.

MadDogMatt Posted 7 June, 2012 Share Posted 7 June, 2012 A better bet is 4/7 to stay up, thats a 50% + return on your cash in less than a year. In fairness its the type of bet you need to able to risk a wedge on to make it worthwhile. Me thinks the price will change when our signings start getting announced. I can't see any spread bet prices available at the mo, if they reflect the second favorites to go down tag I am a buyer at up to 40 points
Thedelldays Posted 7 June, 2012 Share Posted 7 June, 2012 I bet if we spend the whole season looking likely to finish 17th, you won't be consistently saying 'we're doing well'. Probably not. But that is the nature of not winning much. But ultimately, if we stay up. We would have done well
TopGun Posted 7 June, 2012 Share Posted 7 June, 2012 9/1 ( Stan James and BetVictor) That's pretty good. I got 11/1 before the start of last season for Saints to get promoted (only £20 on it alas) and that top ten bet looks feasible to me, given any team below the usual top 7 or 8 could be placed almost anywhere. Tractor_Saint Posted 8 June, 2012 Share Posted 8 June, 2012 (edited) I was only allowed to place a £20 e/w bet on Saints to win the Premier via skybet. Stand to win £66,706.67 - maybe I'll get a cheap Porsche Cab Didn't realise I had £40 in my account until I logged into Skybet - the £40 was because I put an e/w bet last year on Saints to win the Championship Hope I do that again then! sammysaint Posted 8 June, 2012 Share Posted 8 June, 2012 Who does the bets where you get a handicap start like 30 points head start and if saints finish within 30 points of the league winners they pay out as winners of the handicap league ? that would be a good better i remember teams like us would be odds of 10 or 11-1. Snap - I had £50 spare from my 14/1 e/w on the Championship (after losing cash on backing QPR and Villa to go down) how unlucky can one man be on football bets? To miss out by 1 point at both ends of the table!!
The9 Posted 8 June, 2012 Share Posted 8 June, 2012 Isn't the return on the original stake £93k as opposed to £83k ? £78175 for the win and £15650 for the place (assuming E/W is 1/4 of the odds).

Nah, not according to my betting slip. £25 e/w at 2500/1 each = 1/3 odds 1-2. £83,383.33 If you can tell me how to post a PNG from my desktop I'll show you! CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 8 June, 2012 Share Posted 8 June, 2012 I was going to say that betting on football is a mugs game ... but then I remembered I know a lad who has made thousands betting on those accumulator thingies. So I better shut up I suppose.
