Tove Jansson wrote a fantastic book for grown ups called the Summer Book. It's a beautiful read and I thank The (original) Stain for bringing it to my attention.

I can remember one very weird episode in which this lone shadowy figure stood on a hill and scared everyone to death in the house.

 

One thing I should say though is how good is it to see something that hasn't been messed about with? TinTin for example had all that 3D animatronic treatment ********. This isn't some gimmicky 3D crap, just animated drawings.
