Guan 2.0 Posted 4 June, 2012 Share Posted 4 June, 2012 Garlands? Only thursday night is straight/student night. Wonder what he was doing there?
Flyer Posted 4 June, 2012 Share Posted 4 June, 2012 He was with his misses. Not a lot of sympathy on the QPR boards. Most think he should keep a low profile and whats a 29 yo doing going out clubbing, most people in their early 20s grow out if it.
This Charming Man Posted 4 June, 2012 Share Posted 4 June, 2012 Garlands? Only thursday night is straight/student night. Wonder what he was doing there? Probably assumed he's less likely to get attacked in a gay bar...
gaz Posted 4 June, 2012 Share Posted 4 June, 2012 A spokesman for QPR said: "Joey Barton was involved in an incident in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Monday morning. "Barton was on his way home from a night out with his girlfriend when two men sang offensive chants and then proceeded to hit the Rs midfielder." "Police were immediately on the scene and... Barton decided not to press charges and left the scene with his girlfriend soon after." Dislike him or not, it was an unprovoked attack against him. scotty Posted 4 June, 2012 Author Share Posted 4 June, 2012 Dislike him or not, it was an unprovoked attack against him. Thats a fair comment, but if I saw roy keane outside a nightclub at 5am, and if I thought I could a/ carry it off and b/ get away with it, I would probably lamp him one. Bartons previous probably endears him to the football fans of England in much the same way. Not saying its right, but thats most likely the reason imho. Red Alert Posted 4 June, 2012 Share Posted 4 June, 2012 Dislike him or not, it was an unprovoked attack against him. Because a QPR spokesman is likely to say Joey was kicking off too? TBF even is this was an "unprovoked" attack I can't honestly say that Joey Barton deserves any better. The quicker he fuxs of and retires the better for the English game as a whole. He is a disgrace of a player and from what we hear/see of him in the media not a much better human being either.

stu0x Posted 5 June, 2012 Share Posted 5 June, 2012 Dislike him or not, it was an unprovoked attack against him. Quelle surprise, it now transpires that Barton was arrested as well. Funny how the QPR press office neglected to mention that...

Ken Tone Posted 6 June, 2012 Share Posted 6 June, 2012 Quelle surprise, it now transpires that Barton was arrested as well. Funny how the QPR press office neglected to mention that... Quite --and the only pictures released show a shirtless Barton being held back from hitting someone. Mind you, to be fair, it is entirely possible that the QPR version is true. But even if so, you have to question the sense of someone like him being outside a club in Liverpool at 5 am, with no 'minders'. He can't have it both ways. If you're a public figure earning obscene amounts of money and living a surreally privileged life, you can't expect to act as if you live a normal life when you feel like it.
