What an incredible publicity today Her Majesty and Prince Phillip put over for standing on the terraces. Never been so proud to have such an incredible pair reigning over us. True Saints.

Anyone see "Land of Hope and Glory" being performed with the rain pouring down on the drenched singers?

Didnt the queen announce shes a West Hoof United fan ?

Think you might be confusing 'fact' with an episode of Till Death Do us Part where Alf sees a photo of West Ham in Buckingham Palace recounting how West Ham won the World Cup.

....think she was heard to remark.. at last, now that Southampton have finally won it, I don't have to come and sit on this hard seat anymore.

Must be true I read it on the saintsweb

Objected to paying the Severn Bridge toll, and didn't fancy having to meet that whinging Frog Wenger!

Still marvellous, the last time she handed over the cup was to the Mighty Saints!

What a woman!

Love the hat! Its a nice to think she might have a soft spot for Southampton after watching us win the cup. I'm sure in reality that day is a distant and faded memory in her long life now though.

The last cup final she attended I think. The Queen - 100% SFC.

Not sure if true or not. She was due to attend the 2007 final as it was the first final at the new wembley. Have not been able to establish whether she attended or not. Would be interesting to know.

I believe that she did attend in 2007 but 1976 was the last time that she handed out the medals.

Obviously she thought that after Saints everything else would be an anti-climax.
