Sweet! They is making major improvements with every release! I had the iphones 3 and it was cool but it had a flaw that if you was playing tiger woods golf on the toilet and the phone rung so you dropped it on the floor you would get Cracked Screen! They upgraded this for iphones 4 so i no longer get Cracked Screen but my iphones 4 flatly refuses to do photo messages which is bad cos i is always sexting my b!tches! Hopefully they will improve this for iphones 5!

It will need to be something quite special to keep me as a customer. The Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X are really rather sweet devices.

Although the HTC One X has been recalled from all stores yesterday!

Samsung have also had problems with the release of the S3 as they pulled all of the blue stock pre release.

The last rumours i heard about the iPhone 5 was an October release but the WWDC (Apples worldwide conference)starts on June 11th so there may be announcment then

I spoke to someone at the O2 shop last week, they had no idea when it is coming out.

they had about 1 weeks notice with the actual date when the 4s is coming out

it will have a bigger screen

I spoke to my friend ( he works at 02 ) and said 4-6 weeks. they decreased the ammount of iphone 4s ordered also.

he was spot on when I got my iphone 4.

I went to get my 3gs back in 2010 about mid may time, and he said the 4 would be abougt 4 weeks and it was.

sounds good. august/september seem to be their "launch" time.....maybe..?

I wonder how much the tariffs will cost for this and how much the handset will cost etc

Not one knows for sure except a few people within Apple. Apple is a very secretive place and believe or not, a lot of people who work for Apple don't even know - I have a friend in a senior position who doesn't know and even if he did, he wouldn't tell me - it's not the "Apple way" to blab. It's like MI5 in there - odd, but very interesting working environment!

So never mind what latest pointless tricks it can do, will the battery last more than a day at a time?

Smartphones are getting plain silly for battery life. Most seem to need charging every day. My latest Blackberry only lasts about 2 days, whilst the older ones lasted for 3 or 4 days - and my good old-fashioned steam-powered Nokia usually only needs charging about once a week unless I use it a lot.

Hopefully. The new Samsung S3 is supposed to have amazing battery life for a Smartphone. Hopefully Apple have been able to better it. If not, I'll go for the S3.

Does my head in when I go out for the day and my battery is dead by 10pm unless I turn off all the features that drew me to the phone in the first place.

That is a good point

If apple or Samsung really cure the smartphone battery issue. They will have a real winner in their hands

What do you DO on a phone to drain the battery so much?? My iPhone lasts for 3 days without charge, that includes phonecalls and browsing the internet while sat on the train.

One tip I got (form Essruu actually) was to turn location services off - that seems to work!

When you're as popular as me, my phone is always ringing with people desperate to know where I'm drinking and what my plans are in general for the day.

I have location settings and all automatic updates turned off. Though I do have a crappy 2nd hand HTC phone at the moment, as I lost my decent phone when hammered a while ago.

It'll be end of June. WWDC is mid June, they'll announce then and release within 2 weeks.

All the previous models have been released end June/beginning July in subsequent years. The only exception was the 4S, because there was a problem with manufacturing on one of the parts so they missed the intended release date (June 2011).

If those leaks are accurate, and they have changed the dock and moved the 'phones port, it'll probably be the final nudge I need to swap to Android (as pretty much the only thing keeping me on Apple was the dock, and moving the 'phones is just stupid).
