[/h] OK so the question is, which part of NO and Hanging onto the door of the plane for grim life did the Jump Instructor NOT understand? Unbelievable Video link That is absolutely mental!!! Just seeing her hanging out the harness like that. One wrong move from either of them and she would have been pizza and on her 80th too. I'm very glad for her and her family she survived. I think the skydive centre can expect a visit from Health and Safety very soon.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 25 May, 2012 Share Posted 25 May, 2012 I thought it was interesting but the mrs wasn't impressed. Moral of the story dont let mentals have your life in their hands.
Ohio Saint Posted 26 May, 2012 Share Posted 26 May, 2012 They should have realised that she was not mentally fit enough to make a decision like this when they saw her wig. My daughter is doing a parachute jump soon!! Thanks for that!!
farawaysaint Posted 26 May, 2012 Share Posted 26 May, 2012 I did a parachute jump and while the instructor was telling us how it was a 1 in a million chance of a chute fail, the guy jumping before our group's chute failed oooh errr On a serious note though, instructors throw you out the plane even if you don't want to jump, saw it happen to one of my mates on the same jump. When you're that high up no-one wants to do it and once you're on the ground again everyone loves it so they try and give you a little "help" if you look too frightened to take the big step and it happens all the time. Poor guy just thought the old bird was nervous and didn't want her to miss out although if something does go wrong like this and the instructor "helped" then lawsuits beckon. Kingsland Codger Posted 26 May, 2012 Share Posted 26 May, 2012 Whilst no doubt the instructor will be heavily criticized for shoving her our of the plane I suspect, as farawaysaint says above, reluctance is a not uncommon. He also did an amazing job of keeping hold of the old girl on the way down.
stev2001 Posted 26 May, 2012 Share Posted 26 May, 2012 I did a bungy in oz and just when I got to the point of no return I heard one instructor say to the other "did you tie him on.....no"
Jimmy_D Posted 26 May, 2012 Share Posted 26 May, 2012 I did a bungy in oz and just when I got to the point of no return I heard one instructor say to the other "did you tie him on.....no" A mate told me about something even worse that that done... Not only did they scream no as he was past the point of no return, they chucked a cut bit of bungie cord down with him as he went.

Did you see the video of the woman in Aus where the bungee broke and she fell into the croc filled river? That was quite a scary one. I did a skydive about 10 years ago for charity. Great fun. My mate was due to do it as well but he passed out in the aircraft and had to be brought back down in the plane.

tpbury Posted 28 May, 2012 Share Posted 28 May, 2012 How does the cameraman film from outside the plane? And why is he only filming one person - the only one where there's an accident? I'm suspecting a bit of self promotion here.

I'm suspecting a bit of self promotion here. I did one in New Zealand and you have to pay extra for a camera man to jump with you. Each jumper gets their own camera man.
