What's hiding in Sholing?

What do you think the hazy object is hiding in a backyard in Sholing?

Still not sure then go to the post about 1/3rd way down the page on this forum and look at the images.

That's just round the corner from where I live.

You on about the plane? I know it used to belong to Mrs King my teacher at Heathfield First School. Don't know if she still lives there.

Its like that Boat in Bitterne, off Mousehole Lane I think ? its bigger than the house and have never seen it moved, its as if it was built in the garden

GoogleEarth 50 55' 27.61'' N 1 22' 03.85'' W

from what ive been told, the guy who built it did so with the intention of having it lifted out by crane and having it transported to the water. However, it was found that the road and underlying sewers might not withstand the weight of the lorry/crane combo aswell as the weight of the boat.....so in the garden it remains........ :(

There used to be a real secret at Sholing railway station on the side that goes to Fareham....

The closed up station house there was home to a model railway society and their model railway (with model landscaping, trees and people etc) was about 10m long and had a terminus station etc.

Vandals would have loved it. Not sure it's still there though.

Wow, I always thought it had crashed there during the war, learn something new everyday.

i was at Heathfield with her son Christopher!!!

You're not 'that' old then ;) Did Mrs King ever give you any stick insects? My greatest achievement at that school was tripping her up in the corridor and breaking her either ankle/leg can't remember which one now.

It's smiling.
