Frank's cousin Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 Á brilliant end to a brilliant season. We beat the Germans, on penalties, in Germany an in the process it f/cks up tottenham and Redknapp. You couldn't have asked for more. Always had you down for someone who supported Chelsea... Considering the nationalties involved, a Dutchman who should have won for Bayern, its hardly something for you to satrt prancing about draped in your Union Flag.... Not just tonight, but also against Barcelona. They probably didn't deserve to get there in terms of domination in football terms, but you can't deny that they have defended for their lives in both games. The played as a team and defended as a unit, they were clinical when they got their chances and took them. Their opposition weren't.

Its the team that represents English football and the players what ever there nationality make up the team therefore its an English team. That was the point in reality. If it had been a boxing match the ref would have stopped it after about 15 minutes. Then going behind in the 82nd minute should have had them on the way home, but a blunder by Heynkes trying to go defensive gave them a toehold and they finally managed to string more than 2 passes together. It made for fascinating TV. But not so sure what it will mean for the greater good of football outside of West London & last night's audience. The world has seen that you CAN beat quality and flair with 11 men (10 v Barca) by packing the penalty area. IF that had been us last night the match thread would have needed the UN Peacekeepers & the Samaritans after 20 mins

Was surprised that Chelsea didn't go after Bayern after their 5-1 loss last week but when you saw Robben and Ribery running at the you could kinda understand why they sat back and went for the counter....and it worked.
