dubai_phil Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation I'm going for Swansea, Sunderland and West Ham/Blackpool Totally us. Due to SRL gone to Pool for 20 mil in Jan as they try (unsuccessfully) to stay up. NA gone to Villa next week for a Million a week and replaced by Guardiola who finds out that his lack of twitter level English is an issue with the squad Kelvin unfortunately breaks his leg saving the penalty that means Team GB won the Gold and Forecast was a disaster after all other keepers refuse to pay the car park charges hence our bad early season form/ Jaidi recalled after Forte signs to Man U in August to replace Rio. (His name is Rio and he watches from the stands) AL is arrested after a wild night out in Bompey with LLS and is never the same again Oh so us, Pool & Villa
SuperMikey Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 Wigan if they lose Martinez and don't replace him properly (like Wolves didn't).Reading if they don't strengthen properly/lose McDermott.Blackpool/West Ham if they go up and don't strengthen properly. Can see those 3 being involved in a relegation scrap for most of the season, then chucking teams like Norwich, QPR, Villa, Saints, Stoke, Swansea, West Brom etc into the mix as well. It's going to be a struggle.

aintforever Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 (edited) West Brom, Wigan and Norwich. Though if Blackpool go up I can see them going straight back down. Us, Reading and Swansea will be the other teams involved in the dog fight. Edited 18 May, 2012 by aintforever

Badger Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 So much depends on managerial departures and appointments. The immediate future of Wigan/Norwich/Swansea us appears to hinge on keeping managers in situ, and if they move the future is not so rosy. Similarly for Villa and WBA,their appointments are critical. This is before we know the playing squads available of course.
pingwing Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 QPR and who ever wins the playoff final tomorrow (Blackpool won't get the players, West Ham won't be able to offload the wages for rubbish) and either West Brom (if they make the wrong manager choice and sell to fund squad shaping) or Wigan (who can't get luck that many times)

SNSUN Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 With the team we have currently, we're destinged for relegation. However by the start of next season with our new signings in place, I think we'll be fine. Stoke are due a bad season IMO.
Berkshire Saint Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 Difficult to say at this stage but I can't see Sunderland going down with O'Neill in charge. Think Stoke are due a relegation battle after 4 pretty comfortable years in the top flight. West Brom, Norwich and Swansea are unlikely to do as well as they did this season and despite the Martinez love-in at the moment, Wigan will struggle again with or without him. Going to go for Stoke, Norwich and Wigan. Maybe Blackpool instead of Wigan if they win tomorrow. Fully expect us and Reading to be right in mix...West Ham will be fine if they come up. Saint_lambden Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 Depending on who they appoint and if they sell Bent or not - Villa/Norwich, Wigan and Swansea.
Lighthouse Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 Wigan, QPR and the playoff winners. All depends on which managers do what really, if Norwich, Swansea, Saints or Reading lose their manager they could have serious issues. Villa might not have it too easy either if they keep McLeash and lose Bent. West Brom too, now they've lost Roy.

kelkel31 Posted 18 May, 2012 Share Posted 18 May, 2012 as everyone has said managers above all else will be key. gutted the villa have sack the idiot cause i had them being in a real fight, might change with the right appointement. norwich and swansea are likely to have the second season syndrome which showed already with there later season form being distorted by last day wins in a league position sence. if blackpool go up, they will come straight back down, wham probably will be able to do enough if they win so im going like this wigan down no mater what blackpool if promoted saints, reading, norwich, swansea, villa, wba to contest the 1/2 places and it wont be pretty
Dalek2003 Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 We haven't signed anyone of substance yet. We need to sort it out by the end of June at the latest or we will be in trouble.
S-Clarke Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 Stoke are a team who have been treading water for the last 18 months, that's very dangerous as teams that do that eventually get sucked in....Thats what I predict will happen to Stoke this year. Norwich could struggle if they lose their manager and striker, as those 2 guys are the key reason in why they're where they are. Take those 2 out and they will struggle big style. Wigan will again struggle, even more so if they lose Martinez. It's a much weaker league than it was when we were last in it, I'm pretty confident of that. I don't expect big things next year but a nice comfortable end of the season being in mid-table would be terrific.

Well that's rubbish for a start. Of course it'd be nice to pay the premium for early buys, but that is not how it works. Chairman never like having to pay wages over the summer, they always leave it as late as possible.
krissyboy31 Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 Don't think you can ignore that we will be up there with the favourites for relegation. I don't think we will go down but I don't think you can rule it out. Swansea and Norwich will find it tougher this time around (second season syndrome) and the 3 promoted teams, plus maybe a Stoke or a West Brom will be in the mix. dune Posted 19 May, 2012 Author Share Posted 19 May, 2012 Can't see Sunderland doing anything but improving and moving into the top-half next season, but who knows. the reason I suspect Sunderland will struggle is based purely on how they finished the season. They were in a great position with 3/4 of the season gone, then for the remaining 1/4 were in relegation form. Teams tend to start a new season how they finished the previous season.
