saintedwill Posted 17 May, 2012 Share Posted 17 May, 2012 I think he would be a suck it and see signing. Good to have a player of his experience in the dressing room and seems like he's someone who gets his head down and gets on with it so good for the spirit. I think he'd fit it but his fitness is the sticking point.
aintforever Posted 17 May, 2012 Share Posted 17 May, 2012 We need experience in the side but too injury prone IMO.

Pugwash Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 If fit, undoubtedly yes. Yet another ManU sicknote though. You'd think the biggest club in the world would be able to turn things around for some of their long-term injured - they do seem to have had a string of them over past years. shirleysfc Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 If he proved his fitness and lowered his wage demands then yes. I suspect at least one of these won't happen tho.
Badger Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 Good shout. Can keep Michael Owen company in the treatment room. We definitely need someone there now that Connolly has been released.
Dig Dig Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 Until I see a YouTube video of him doing squats and shuttle runs, I personally wouldn't be interested.
S-Clarke Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 We've just got rid of Connolly and Holmes....let's not replace them with more injury prone players... He got a chance at City this year, but barley played because........he's been injured for 6 months! The guy came very close to retiring and I think it's probably best if he does. Lighthouse Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 Owen Hardgreaves would be a great addition to the squad if fit. The Pope would be a great drinking partner if he renounces his Catholicism and forms a death metal band The wood would be really clean and tidy if bears stop sh*tting in them. Pompey will be a major force in the future if they find a billionaire owen who builds them a 60,000 seater stadium and signs Riquelme. You get the idea. In short, no. Not even pay as you play, knowing he'd only be fit for about 5 games, he's probably want £100k per appearance or something absurb like that. Brussels Saint Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 One of my favourite non Saints players, but would still say no as simply too many injuries.
Foxstone Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 Don't need an injury prone player taking up a space in the 25 man squad, regardless how good he was.
peacey Posted 22 May, 2012 Author Share Posted 22 May, 2012 Is there any videos of him this season proving his fitness like last season guys?

They simply don't exist.

saintbob40 Posted 23 May, 2012 Share Posted 23 May, 2012 Michael Owen, Owen Hargreaves....why not throw in Keiron Dyer and a couple of other perma injured crocks.......
qwertySFC Posted 23 May, 2012 Share Posted 23 May, 2012 Would be an utter waste of money - surely we can and will aim a bit higher than some old croked injury prone no one

Gingeletiss Posted 23 May, 2012 Share Posted 23 May, 2012 Brian Kidd was on talk sh1te earlier, and claimed OH was fit all season, and couldn't get into the team due to the other midfielders, claimed he needed matches to get back to his best. Just saying like! Imo, would be a very good signing, if we took the chance. Him and Joe Cole would do me for this transfer window as CM choices. david in sweden Posted 24 May, 2012 Share Posted 24 May, 2012 (edited) Been linked with hosts of clubs including us since being released by man city. would you take him on a pay as you play deal? mmmmmmm Might look good ...on paper, but he would have to be one of our 25 , and we can't take that chance. The first rule in transfer deals is ..never buy a player with a bad injury record, but over several decades...we've ignored it ..time after time.
