Blackpool vs Wham - hobson's choice!

Both goals came from long balls so i'd say a fair bit no?

West Ham did not play free flowing slick football with quick passes to each other, go look at the passing and possesion stats.

Did you watch the game or did you just watch the stats on BBC player? The first Taylor broke down the left and put a great ball in for Cole who had pulled off his marker and finished well and the second came from a cross on th ground from Nolan after a ball out wide, also played on thE ground.

They didn't play brilliant flowing football but they didn't play long ball either. Come on Marco, you clearly do to know what the f*ck you're talking about. You said Stoke don't pplay long ball because they get it wide and out crosses in. West Ham score both their goals today that way and they are a hoof ball team. Make your mind up sweetheart.

Man you really do talk some **** sometimes....

Blackpool had more possesion, had more shots, had by far the better chances and they were all created without them punting it up the field. Both West Ham goals came from long balls over the defence...

I know you love to argue, you see it as some sort of challenge but you have to be a serious mong if you think West Ham were playing the better "football" there....

The first 2 goals were more or less identical, from both sides.

The second was a decent long pass after Nolan made a good run in behind the defence.

Blackpool played some pretty stuff, in front of the West Ham defence. I doubt if that's much comfort to their supporters when the season kicks off next season.I didn't think West Ham played too much long ball, I thought they were ok, certainly not as bad as some sides.

for about 3/4 of the game...blackpool hoof'd the ball from their defence to ince/phillips....they eventually scored from it..

they also did this against us and tore us a new one

pool did have a spell of some good stuff...about 10 mins.

west hams goal came from a run down the wing, a low cross (2nd goal that is)

And th first goal was a good cross and finish after Taylor broke down the left. Big difference between a decent cross and a long aimless punt.

That is one way of looking at it.

Another would be to say they punted it over Blackpools defence with a pass that went to nobody and Nolan was the first person to react and managed to get to it and put in a good cross.

Point being the pass was not intended for him, it was a lump up field. It was a scrappy goal.

They play direct at times. We play direct at times

They play good football at times we play good football at times.

Actually go and watch some football and make up your own mind rather than basing it on what other clueless divs say on Internet mong boards sunshine.

Every team punt it but my point was the ones who use that as their only tactic stuggle in the PL. Crossing isn't "punting" it. Stoke use the flanks as I said. How many times did a winger burst down the channels and put a cross in for Cole? Very few.

Who have West Ham got who can run at defenders and get past them in the same way that Ince kid did? Thats my point, there was no sweet defence splitting passes, no mazey runs that cut through the players, no inch perfect through balls etc.

Matt Taylor did for the first goal.

End of arguement.

Resorting to that is a clear sign that you are losing the arguement. The 3 moments of note from West Ham, the two goals and Nolans shot against the bar came from good football and quality, not hoof ball. Just because you don't like it it doesn't make it any less true.

I thought it was just West Ham fans who were obsessed with the "West Ham" way.

From what I saw today, West Ham played no different than Reading or countless other Championship sides, they certainly played a lot more football than Stoke did when they got promoted. They dont play as much football as us, or Wigan or Blackpool, but they play pretty much like half a dozen Premiership sides. David Moyes gets praised to the hilt for sending teams out to play the Fat Sam way. In my opinion had Di Cannio been Manager and they played like they did today, nobody would have said a thing.

They reminded me of Alan Pardew's West Ham today.

What a load of ********....are you even listening to what the pundits are saying? Did you not listen when they said "Blackpool played football in the right way"? Why didn't they say that about West Ham hey? All they said about them was they took their chances when they came and were lucky, thats what they did. Blackpool created better chances by working the ball around each other and creating their chances. And because I laugh at the ******** you talk on here means I lost an arguement? **** in that case you lost every arguement you try to "win" as you always say something dumb like "go watch some football"......Do you not know how retarded that is by saying that? So because we don't share an opinion = i don't watch football, I guess Turdish is now the argument judge now too hey?

Get a life mate, get off the computer and actually go and do something with your life.

Why are you getting so upset nipper?

Anyway. You mentioned stats so how's about this one. Only 2% difference in possession percentages yet Blackpool were playing brilliant passing football and knocking it about like Barcelona yet West Ham spent the whole game playing hoof ball. How can this be?

Trying and reply without swearing and thumping your keyboard please.

Just picked up my 20 notes and then proceeded to fluke 102.50 out of the roulette machine. Considered lumping some on Chelsea but bottled it and made a hasty retreat.

they wanted more tickets as they sold out and blackpool returned 10k

Gold is right. Clubs should be made to sell their allocation working round the bowl so that when situations like this arise extra tickets are made available to clubs that sell out. It happened with us in the JPT so it's not like this is a new occurrence.

Thats fair enough on the face of it, but its supposed to be a level tie without home advantage, so both sets of fans have to be offered an equal allocation. Blackpool and Carlisle are so far north that they were never likely to fill theirs, plus they are impecunious northerners while we are affluent southerners ;) ,but this was already practically a home game for whu and an away game for pool. Flogging blackpools spare allocation to the whu fans would have only reinforced that imbalance.

I would kinda sorts agree with you, but this is a big enough game that you should dell all your tickets. Blackpool were very poor in this regard.
