hahahah kicked up a stink..hahahah touchy today are you Dennis Waterman to his George Cole?

Just wondered what caused such a reaction to someone suggesting where one football club might finish in relation to another club next season; seemed a bit over the top to me. You carry on though.

So what caused you to react that way...didn't realise you were that protective... nice I suppose...if thats what floats your submarine.

Its a message board and I didnt agree with his opinion and can't see the logic behind it if that doesn't agree with one of your internet chums....oh dear.

You must have missed the part where I said I disagreed with him too, so I'm not exactly following your logic. Internet chum, f*ck me.

So you agree with me then...nice....so no stink kicked up then...glad thats settled.

FWIW I am cheering on Blackpool but think West Ham will be too strong for them in attack but depends if BFS

bottles it and goes back to 4-5-1.

BLACKPOOL - if for no other reason than I hate that East End brand of arrogance from WHam and their owners.

IF Wham are as good as they keep telling everyone they are, then they'll be able to get promoted NEXT SEASON to prove it.

Another season in the NPC may teach them a little humility.

Having been a Saints fan through decades of being the underdog, in many situations it also means I'd go for Blackpool, even though Holloway (with his own particular brand of arrogance)... is not my favourite person, either.

Wow. Do you think you would you would have kicked up such an unnecessary stink if Delldays had predicted we'd finish above West Ham?

Delldays predicting us to finish above West Ham ?? Do me a favour. You don't expect Delldays to say anything positive about us do you?? I firmly expect him to think that we will finsih 21st out of 20.

Anyone who dares to think anything positive about Saints is immediately rounded up by him, and Turkish, taken outside and shot!!

Why have they finished below us? Why did we take 4 points off them?

I think you lot should all do the lottery as you obviously know what our squad will look like next year

if you think west Hams will be better than ours....hasn't worked this year...what makes you so sure it will next?

WHU finished the season looking very good and playing great football. I think they are a better side than us. Of course this can change once we've signed a few players.

Nope. Never saw them play "Great" football at that stage of the season. They did just enough by the end.

I was wondering what Gordon Hobson had to do with it. I think the op was suggesting it was morton's fork, but I disagree as Blackpool are clearly preferable winners in my book.

You can imagine how angry i was after trawling through 3 pages and this is the only reference to Gordon Hobson - and it still doesn't tell us wo his choice is FFS.

You didn't even see them play then if that's your view. Or you're just following idiots on here who reckon they're a long ball team.

Or maybe I just have a different opinion of what great football is.

They played great football towards the end of the season by championship standards. I wouldn't have wanted to have played against them then.

What utter nonsense. You need to read understand posts before casting comment on them. Saying we aren't a super club destined to be euorpean champions in a 50,000 stadium to some on here is consider negative FFS.

FWIW I think we will finish lower midtable, about 12th, next season provided we improve the team by 5 decent players. Comfortably clear of relegation and above Reading and West Ham.

Perhaps sunny jim, you can point me in the direction of the post which says that we are a super club going to be European champiions in a 50,000 seater stadium. Oh and at the same time point me in the direction of any posts when you and delldays have said anything positive about the team you support.

It's a complete travesty, isn't it, that the better team didn't finish above us. Of course, it still remains to be seen whether they even gain promotion via the play-offs, so if they fail to achieve that, is it the case that they are better than Blackpool? It is arguable that the play-offs are a lottery and that the number of points advantage that WH had over Blackpool after the completion of the normal fixture list means that WH deserve to go up automatically. But then following that argument, our finish above WH is evidence enough that we are the better team. Whether WH are the better team on paper is debateable, but we play better together than them, or have the better manager, or other factors like that which have given us the advantage over them. And those factors, plus the team strengthening, are what will make us a decent mid-table team in the Premiership too next season, like Swansea and Norwich.

Of course we deserved to finish above them Les, because over the whole season we were better than them, but the point i'm making is that they looked very good towards the end of the season. They played quick passing football, and would have been to good for us - IMO - had we played them at that stage.

Post 123 on thei thread for a start. We will finish as the top promoted team and midtable next season.

Make it difficult sunshine.

Excactly this. They were excellent in the last 10 games or so whilst we wobbled a bit. Over the season we were better than them up if we'd have played them in the run in I think they'd have beaten us. It seems you are not allowed to anything that doesn't suggest we are the worlds greatest team and Cortese is the greatest man alive without being accused of being negative.

from a 'next season' perspective, I think we have more chance of beating blackpool than we do west ham, so would prefer to see them go up today

Except we took 4 points off West Ham and only one off Blackpool.

No contest for me.

Although Holloway is an arse, he's a pretty comical one. Fat Sam is just a sweaty fat reptile, hope Blackpool do it today (although in truth West Ham deserve to).

Only downside if Blackpool go up is that we will be less likely to sign Matt Phillips.

Add to that Vaz Te's comments about us in The Mail today and its "Come On Blackpool" for me.

Arrogant bunch of East London yobbos :D

I agree. He should have said they are just grateful to be there, That they will try their best and they are so proud of their achievement in finishing so close to the mighty Southampton.

Deluded idiot, by that logic they completely fell apart from the first kick of the season, we were a point off being champions FFS!
His comments about us aren't really right, but I can sort of see where he's coming from, the pressure has told on West Ham, particularly the level of expectation at their home games.

If one of our players had said that everyone would be getting boners about what a great guy they are, how much the love the club and it's great to see such confidence.

Really? I would have gone for mass meltdowns, saying such overconfidence ensured certain defeat.

In the interest of balance and perspective, Gary Taylor-Fletchers wife was interviewed on five last night. When asked how they prepare the night before a big game like this, her reply was that she puts her tan on.

He's talking sh*t. Talking like we sailed through the season without any pressure. There was pressure to carry on performing after our amazing start. It started to show towards the end of 2011, but we bounced back with an amazing run and put the pressure back on them. I really hope Blackpool win, I want to see Allardyce's moaning and whinging after the game.

Vaz Te ... what a tosser :

People don’t notice,’ he said. ‘Southampton were promoted last season and this season they over-achieved, by many, many levels. They never had pressure — they just went on a run.

‘We saw that when they actually expected to go up, to get automatic promotion, they crumbled. So if they had to deal with that pressure all season, I don’t think they could have done it.

Reading, the same. They were nowhere and then all of a sudden they put a run together. They got a bit lucky with results and they go on and win it.

Our run ... best part of 46 games

Reading won 16 out of 18 was it ?

Yeh, we both just got lucky.

Thats right, but dont forget; if WHU win today, there wont have been any luck involved, it will be because they were by far the better team..... ;)

I really want blackpool to win this one, but dont see it happening.
