Armchair Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 They have just posted following Article on their OS. Last paragraph rather suggestive!! http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Great-Games-Pompey-4-Southampton-1-3427.aspx
Dimond Geezer Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 They really are idiots down there, we had to beat Man U, we lost, nothing else mattered.
This Charming Man Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 Bless them. Things are so bleak down there, they're having to re-hash match reports from 7 years ago. It's all irrelevant now anyway. Everything has worked out perfectly for us in the end. They're staring into the abyss and we're marching on to bigger and better things. Natural order has been restored down here.
Whitey Grandad Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 Let's just say that they didn't try very hard.
Saints foreva Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 When will those utter retards realise that their result at West Brom had no say in our relegation?
Thedelldays Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 When will those utter retards realise that their result at West Brom had no say in our relegation? to be fair...it did...as much as any other result that went against us...
Appy Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 to be fair...it did...as much as any other result that went against us... No it didn't, it had no bearing whatsoever.
Thedelldays Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 No it didn't, it had no bearing whatsoever. well, it did...if we had won the game, we would have stayed up. it mattered as much as it did when we lost to spurs 5-1. or when we lost to who ever...so it did matter...but it was just another defeat in a sorry season
Appy Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 well, it did...if we had won the game, we would have stayed up. it mattered as much as it did when we lost to spurs 5-1. or when we lost to who ever...so it did matter...but it was just another defeat in a sorry season I'm talking about West Brom beating Portsmouth. The game this thread is about.
Thedelldays Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 I'm talking about West Brom beating Portsmouth. The game this thread is about. ah...righto...yeah, their defeat mattered not in the end
smackalec Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 This used to really **** me off. But i read that with i smile on my face. WTFILN. The skate ****s really are desperate now, trying to hang on to any form of glory.
Trumush Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 Bless them. Things are so bleak down there, they're having to re-hash match reports from 7 years ago. It's all irrelevant now anyway. Everything has worked out perfectly for us in the end. They're staring into the abyss and we're marching on to bigger and better things. Natural order has been restored down here. Exactly this, rehashing history & singing about "4-1 in your own backyard", 2 years ago when they were 2 leagues above. We may as well dredge up"5-2 in your own backyard" referring to Feb 5th 1966 when we were in the same league. WTFILN
Bad Wolf Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 It's always bothered me that they think their defeat to West Brom had ANY hand in us going down. It ended up having no influence on us. Infact, if I remember rightly Palace's point on that day meant they'd have stayed up had Pompey won. So they've actually ended up screwing Palace. I remember thinking at the time that if I was a Palace fan I'd be SO ****ed off at them for that. But they didn't seem to mind...
dronskisaint Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 It no longer matters. WTFILN. This! Particularly the WTFILN bit
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 it amuses me that they get all nostalgic when the future looks so bleak. keep living in the past if you want fish fiddlers!
Pat from Poole Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 It was a highly vomit-inducing episode. Cheats fans turning up wearing West Brom shirts etc. They made s0d-all effort to win that game.
the colonel Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 I seem to remember (unless memory playing tricks on me) that West Brom played Man utd the week before we did and the Manure side was more than just a bit on the weaker side that the one that faced us the following week. Manure had nothing to play for and put their strongest side out against us. Of course nothing to with WBA manager being Brian Robson.
SaintNeil90 Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 The WBA fan at work said that the skates rolled over for them. They didn't even try as they knew their own fans wanted then to lose. Their fans had WBA shirts & posters. For one of the goals the two centre backs ran in opposite directions for the WBA player to run through and slot home. Oh well... Who the **** is laughing now. I'm really not bothered if they go into liquidation or not.
skintsaint Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 I guess the phrase cheaters never prosper applies here
georgeg Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 one word describes them .. desperate .. such a shame .... NOT
southamptonfclegend Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 sad fishy c*nts.. got nothing else to post about, so have to post about something that happened 7 years ago.. WTFILN
Elmore Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 Even if they did throw it and it did play a part in our relegation (it didn't) - relegation was (eventually) a great thing for Saints. Got rid of a lot of deadwood and now back in the prem with proper ambitious owners. Skates meanwhile...
BGF Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 This season I always wanted us to lose against someone who would have sent the skates down! In years to come they will always say we stopped you from winning the league title when we drew against you. B**stards
Huffton Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 Even if they did throw it and it did play a part in our relegation (it didn't) - relegation was (eventually) a great thing for Saints. Got rid of a lot of deadwood and now back in the prem with proper ambitious owners. Skates meanwhile... This. Has anyone got a pompey online account so they can go on there and thank them from all of us for helping us in such a big amazing way. They'll like that...
Trumush Posted 17 May, 2012 Posted 17 May, 2012 This season I always wanted us to lose against someone who would have sent the skates down! In years to come they will always say we stopped you from winning the league title when we drew against you. B**stards The six points we gave Brizzal City didn't help them very much.
