I hope the canteen at the new training ground is well stocked, all people want is for us to sign hungry players.

Fukcing hell that was so funny a little bit of pee came out. Pant change.

Let's hope this card system will make it easier for him to get a Chicken Balti at HT...

And he'll be able to use the points he'll earn from the purchase towards a Cortese car airfreshener.

That's not the first time I've given someone wet knickers.

The former Ipswich player has been on Saints' radar since he scored in the Lions' shock 3-2 FA Cup win at St Mary's in February.

You kinda of hope we base our interest on future players on critera slightly more demanding than " **** me that was a good goal sign him up"

Premature ejaculation in knickers stolen from washing lines does not count. :-)

A good, young and talented player.

Been advocating this signing for some time now, and Saints have been tracking his progress all season.

Wouldn't surprise me if we did enquire as to his availability, but whether we'll push on and attempt to sign him, I'm unsure.

However, he's the kind of player that, in my opinion, would flourish in this environment and no doubt Adkins could help with his progression.

I think I'm right in saying that Adkins signed him during his spell in charge at S****horpe, possibly on loan? Sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

Hooper, Trotter, Forte we do seem to like players who played for S****horpe. Surely now we are in the premiere we should aim a bit further afield

Very good player. Strong box to box midfielder that has looked excellent when we have played them. Didn't score the last minute screamer at SMS, that was Feeney.

A similar player to Huddelestone, has the potential to make a similar impact.

Strong, classy on the ball, box to box and a nice range of passing. He'd thrive at this club IMO.

Isn't that what we did with Tadanari Lee as well?

Just asked a friend who has a season ticket for Millwall (poor them) what they thought...

'Not £1.5M good! It would be a good deal for Millwall lol!'

He's obviously one of them in the minority then. We had a few fans not so long ago that were saying similar about Lallana, but I can tell you that the good majority of Milwall fans rate him as a v good player.

The good majority of them? Did you conduct a poll? That must have taken some time.

Fm 12 has him down as rather good, real life says he'll provide something our midfield could do with (a talented Chaplow). 1.5-2m is pretty reasonable buying too

agree. Would be a good signing. Give us a bite in midfield.

Who was the last genuine box-to-box midfielder we employed?

Jimmy Case?

In that case a) they are quite rare, or b) we've rubbed along without one for quite some time?

Sign him up!

(Did anybody else think Grant Leadbitter, Ipswich, looked good at SMS?)

Leadbitter has gone somewhere else very recently. Middlesbrough?

Do box to box midfielders really exist in the modern game?

Do we play with any? A: no.

Trotter is a good player though, and adaptable to a couple of Mf roles. No better than what we have though.

Ipswich love discarding promising players don't they? Trotter to Millwall on loan then permanently, Rhodes for next to nothing to Huddersfield...

....it comes with the phenomena of changing managers every other year... as soon as the new boss has seen the squad's first weeks training they draw up a list of those they don't want, regardless of history, form or injury record and then part-ex. them for players from their former team / past clubs. We've done it many times.

That's a terrible policy, Adkins out!

Could be true as Adkins does seem keen on players with a S****horpe connection. Thats OK as long as he gives as much consideration to the great majority who don't know where S****horpe is and wouldn't go there even if they did. The last manager who seemed to give extra attention to players who had played for him before was George Burley. Nothing wrong with knowing a player from having worked with him previously, as long as it doesn't rule out other options who might be even better.

Prutton was meant to be but never lived up to expectation.

Most good teams play some form of 433/4231 and midfielders don't have to run around like lunatics to control midfield. A 442 can be dominated by good midfielders, which we're lucky to have. A box to box midfielder plays the attacking and defensive roles of 2 men and to do that in these days of fitter players, you need to be some super-pumped-up beast like Yaya Toure. Not many players have the stamina.

actually I wasn't going to accuse Nigel, but recalling several cases that come to mind in the last 30 years or so ...

I've seen him play 6 times this season (my flat mate is a millwall season ticket holder, and dragged me to some mid-week games) Hes no better then weve got, most millwall fans think hes over rated, we need to be aiming higher.

Agreed. We have to say that IF he was that good, surely a Prem. club would have picked him up already.

Interesting though how a thread like this can be started and have such diverse opinions from fans.

Rather like those " Back from the Match " threads after every game, when one person says that so-and-so was s*it , and someone else say he was Man of the Match ? I only hope NA gets it right ...regardless of whether he signs the guy, or not.

It should be a saintsweb rule that no sentence containing the words "roy keane" will omit the word "c*nt".

imho.

To be fair, I always expected him to lamp a ref at some point. And he delivered!!
