Hardly the 'big' name Liverpool fans require is it?

They brought in one of the biggest names Anfield has ever known in King Kenny and that failed. Apparently this time they're looking for someone more low-key and that can really build something there.

Plus Nige speaks Scouse so will be able to understand what Jamie Carragher says as nobody else can.

To be fair he sounds perfect for Villa given their chairmans comments.

"We want someone to bring some vibrancy back to Villa. That's what we need and that's what we're going to get. A disaster would have been getting relegated but this was too close for comfort."

Sounds like Nige.

No, but you were the one that started this insightful thread.

I'm only passing on what i've been told. I won't bother again in the future unless you say sorry for being nasty to me.

Where have you heard this ? Can't imagine it will happen but there could possibly be something in it.

Why would he want to do that? What can they offer him Saints can't?

bigger club, more money (maybe)...

before you go on, I'm not going to go round and round and debate with you....

I couldn't possibly compromise my source.

Martinez would be perfect for them...he really is a good manager.

maybe brendon rogers

they will be higher up the list than adkins......and they would jump at it too

BUt they dont have to deal with massive pressure from a huge expectant worldwide fan base than Nige does.

Apparently the manager they want is currently in charge of a Premier League club.............

Matthew Syed (from the Times) just said 'tongue in cheek' (his words) - maybe David Moyes! Can you just imagine?

Adkins to Liverpool

Di Canio to West ham after they lose this weekend.

Fat Sam to Saints.

or Gus Poyet.

That's ok then; until the playoff final is over we're technically still a Championship club.

Surely that means its definitely Martinez or Brendan Rogers and NOT Adkins...

Why on earth would a club the size of Liverpool appoint a manager with ZERO Premiership experience!?

How much top level management experience did Pep Guardiola have before he took over at Barcelona?

Not according to Collymore. Highlighted Wigan's many losses and suggested the wins were a fluke. Slightly retarded logic, when judging it on each full season, he's kept a tiny club up for several years, playing passing football and spending very little.

He thoroughly deserves a better job now and he'd do well I think. Far better than Di Matteo that's for sure, but people get blinded by cold hard facts. If he wins the CL, he'll either get the chelsea job or get a big job elsewhere. Short term at a massive club with great players isn't the best way to judge a manager. See 'Avram Grant'.

Adkins is good enough too, but I bet Liverpool fans would say he's not big enough. Martinez has done far more so far and deserves it more, as would Lambert and Rodgers, but Adkins will get to that level in time I think. If he keeps us up then moves to a bigger club, I'll wish him luck and hope he does well.

What are you on about FFS? He is going to take us to the champions league within 5 years FFS.

Villa have no money. Lerner wants to bring youth players through. There squad is poo as proven by their league position. There is only a few clubs he would contemplate leaving us for given the right time and terms and villa aren't one of them. Liverpool will go for exp top level manager so no worries on that front.

- In a 42k stadium this season they averaged 33k.

- They are over £100m in debt, compared to Saints £0.

This sums it up...

Villa have no money. Lerner wants to bring youth players through. There squad is poo as proven by their league position.

The blinded arrogance and ignorance of Saints fans never fails to amaze me.
