Dr Who? Posted 15 May, 2012 Share Posted 15 May, 2012 Right I want to get a season ticket for the 2012/13 season, but this is mainly so I can get away tickets. I go to mostly away games as I live up by Cambridge and I prefer away games. Of course if I buy a season ticket I will go to some home games, but only about 5. Now can I give my ticket for the day to a family member or a friend and this way get money back for shifting a match ticket? Also what is the normal amount of away tickets you can get for an away game, is it 1 per season ticket? I am trying to think back to 2005. Tricky one but I know he club make it as hard as possible to share season tickets!

benjii Posted 15 May, 2012 Share Posted 15 May, 2012 Did you have a season ticket in 2005 then? Why the 7 year gap between then and now? Just a guess but probably because he only goes to about 5 home games and it was easy to get tickets in the last seven years. I'm guessing he thinks it will be more hassle to get tickets next season. By the way, you're becoming proper ****ing monotonous on here. Boring.
Dr Who? Posted 15 May, 2012 Author Share Posted 15 May, 2012 Because I did not need one to go to games. Pretty much turn up and get in. Dr Who? Posted 15 May, 2012 Author Share Posted 15 May, 2012 Just found out it is going to be a swipe credit card like season ticket, so of course would only give it away to friends and family to use to cover the costs.
The Kraken Posted 15 May, 2012 Share Posted 15 May, 2012 I'd be pretty surprised if we sell out a lot of our away allocations. Our away attendances have gotten better over the years but they're still not amazing. Getting an ST seems a potentially very expensive way to guarantee away tickets that probably won't be all that tough to get hold of (perhaps Reading and some London clubs aside). The Kraken Posted 15 May, 2012 Share Posted 15 May, 2012 To answer the question of can you transfer your ST: Officially, no. The club will tell you its non-transferrable. Unofficially, yes, it should be fine so long as its an adult ticket and another adult uses it.

View From The Top Posted 15 May, 2012 Share Posted 15 May, 2012 I find myself in a similar position. Due to other sporting commitments having a season ticket this year may not be viable as I can only do (but not always) Saturday games so I'd miss so many matches as to make the economics daft. However, to be able to take my nipper to the away games, which we again do all Saturday games and any northern midweeks, I may need a season ticket to be able to get tickets for them! The9 Posted 16 May, 2012 Share Posted 16 May, 2012 I think we'll have more fans than ever before. Yes we've been away 7 years, but don't underestimate what a couple of years success can do. Cheaper prices, tickets available each game, lots of new fans will have come along and lots will come back. The premier league will be novel to some and bring support back for others. I don't expect to have any chance of a ticket for the games against top sides. Luckily I'm very happy to see the games against Wigan, Norwich etc where our wins are more likely to come. Cheaper prices ? Than 2004 ?

Saint Lindford Posted 16 May, 2012 Share Posted 16 May, 2012 The away games allocations for next season. Arsenal - 3000 Villa - 3000 Bolton - 3000 but could go to 5000 Chelski - 3000 Everton - just over 3000 Foolham - 3000 Liverpool - just under 2000 Citeh - up to 3000 Manure - up to 3000 Newcastle - up to 3000 Naaarwich - 2500 QPhahaha - 2500 maximum Stoke - 2800 Blunderland - 3000 Swansea - up to 2000 Spuds - 2900 WBA - 3000 Wigan - up to 5400 So going by those figures I reckon only Bolton, Everton, Newcastle, Blunderland and Wigan will not sell out to ST holders, possibly Naarwich as it can be a mare to get to. This all depends on when the games are played of course so a Sunday tea time or Monday night game could mean more tickets available to non ST holders. Though the problem then arises if say we were to do something silly and get to the FA Cup Final, who would get the ticket? I just decided to buy outright again (had to give my ST up for a season) as you'll then receive your renewal discount when you renew the following season and will save all the hassle. I reckon we've only taken over 3,000 to a Northern league game (Derby play-off's excluded) once in the last 10 years and that was Man City in 2004. Ignore the fact they've never bothered in the past, this time they will flock.

Swansea might sell out pretty fast if we only get up to 2000 and it will be a new ground for quite a few. Mind you the speed of a lot of these sales will be massively influenced by the kick off times. Look at this season, I'd say we wouldn't have taken 6000 to Palace if it was a midweek evening game. Cumbria Saint Posted 19 May, 2012 Share Posted 19 May, 2012 Another possibility is to find an existing Season Ticket holder who never goes to away games and share the costs of a ST with them. I know that when my aging parents had Season Tickets they never ever attended away games and there must be many others in a similar position. The problem might be finding those people though I guess. Could be worth some investigation though.
