Watched a bit if this on skyb. How long before the women ask for the same rates of pay as the men as they have in tennis . They were nowhere near as good as the men. If in time they were to get parity they should place against the men especially the Fijians . Discuss is sport starting to become too politically correct ?

Women's 7's is vitally important to the future of the 7's around the world.

It's gives you the opportunity to go down, have a pee, grab a dodgy burger and a case of beers & be back in your seat without missing any proper 7's rugby.

Mind you we did catch Thailand vs Russia one year on the main pitch...............

Was there on sunday and can confirm that this was exactly what we did. Unfortunately our timing was off and they were still playing by the time we got back

Given that professional sport is really part of the entertainment industry, surely pay and prize money ought to relate to the income brought in? So IF women's tennis brings in the same crowds and the same sponsorship and advertising etc as men's, the money should be the same. Ditto every other sport. If ever women's rugby gets as popular as men's, then pay them the same.

Of course by the same token, there is therefore no justification whatsoever for any money at all in men's beach volleyball ;)

Cracking weekend at the 7's. Just a massive party, I can't remember any of the rugby from Saturday, was spot on yesterday though. My first trip to Twickenham and I was really impressed. Prefer it to Wembley. £4.50 a pint took it's toll though

Just a note to those that did go to Twickers, you may have heard mention that we have a massive p1ss up - oops IRB 7's weekend down here always the weekend around 2nd December time.

Dig out the air-miles cards or start putting the coins in a big piggy bank, it really is a great weekend and you don't need to understand much about rugby with each match lasting 7 mins each way

I remember the first time I saw a womens match, it was happening on the pitch adjacent to where my son was playing. At first I was reasonably impressed, all the physical aspects, tackling, rucking, mauling etc were just as whole heart as the blokes, but as soon as anyone tried to kick the ball it was shocking, if by some fluke they managed to get some height on the thing, no-one would catch it, they'd let it bounce fitrst (it was like watching the 11 year olds in their first season of kicking). God knows how they restarted, I didn't watch for too long.
